One food that is definitely associated with summer is corn dogs. So I started doing some research for this week’s Sweet & Savory Summer Fare post and made the delicious discovery that Dog Haus Biergarten Peoria not only has corn dogs, they offer over a half a dozen different styles of corn dogs.
So let’s not waste any more time typing, let’s get the hell over to Dog Haus Biergarten Peoria!
Here we are at Dog Haus Biergarten Peoria in the front section of the Metro Centre.
They have a nice beer patio outside, but it’s a skin-blistering 179 degrees out here, so let’s go in and enjoy this corndog inside, surrounded by air-conditioned comfort.
You order up here at the front counter and I only see one corndog on the menu and it just says it’s an all beef corndog. Where are all of the specialty corndogs I saw online?
My world is quickly becoming a dumpster-fire as I stand in what’s already become a quickly-growing pool of vast disappointment.
Miraculously, a pretty, smiling angel of mercy appeared on the scene by the name of, Shearmere.
I asked if they had any styles of corndogs than what’s on the menu up there and she told me they did, went to the computer on the counter, hit a button and magically half a dozen different styles of corndogs appeared.
I almost cried tears of joy! Talk about your bi-polar moments.
Shearmere took my order which included…
One of their freshly baked cookies for the sweet part of our Summer Fare meal!
Before we get our table let’s take a moment to thank, Shearmere and say, “whew.”
Whew.
Okay, let’s keep this thing rolling, I’ve got people to be and places to see.
I’m here at an off hour in the afternoon, so there’s only one other person in the corner of the dining room, so we have a nice choice of tables.
I chose this one, but before we sit down, let’s take a few photos in here.
They have a really nice bar in here that’s fully stocked and they offer a huge selection of craft beer.
This guy stands guard at the end of the bar.
There’s the huge selection of rotating beers on tap and check. out the massive Happy Hour list that happens from 3pm to 6pm.
They just introduced weekly trivia here every Tuesday night at 7pm. So if you’re a trivia buff, you have a new place to check out!
And just like magic, poof, here’s this week’s sweet and savory summer lunch!
In addition to the corndog I got a side order of cole slaw.
It’s really got a peppery flavor and I love it!
The flavor is sharp and crisp and it’s a crunchy delight!
Now, on to the star of the show, the corndog!
They have over a half a dozen styles and flavors of corndogs and I chose the Corndog Beef Chorizo and Pepperjack Sausage.
They also have a variety of sauces for your food here, so I got a tub of Nashville Hot Sauce. I dunked the corndog into the hot sauce and let it sit for a good minute soaking up the flavorful sauce.
Next I added a healthy dollop of mustard and now let’s dig into this dog!
Three words: Oh. My. God!
This is quite simply the best corndog I have ever tasted in my life!
The hot dog is spicy and flavorful with distinct flavors from the Beef Chorizo and Pepperjack Sausage.
The Nashville Hot Sauce adds a nice layer of heat and the mustard is the perfect final blast of flavor from this corndiggitydoggy delight!
I’m going to have to sample some of the other flavors of corndogs in here, or I might just do a corndog tour down the road.
This was one delightful and flavorful summer delights on this tour!
I was originally planning on getting a milkshake because I saw them offered on their national menu, but they don’t have them at the Peoria location.
So I got a chocolate chip cookie and it was a homemade, sweet chocolate treat!
Thiw was definitely some fabulous Sweet and Savory Summer Fare at Dog Haus Biergarten Peoria!
