Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Jalapeños Metro Bar & Grill with special guest star, Leslie.
Now, please welcome, from the Metro Centre, this week’s host: Jalapeños Metro Bar & Grill!
Well, it happened again. I’m dining out alone this week and wanted to have a couple beers before dinner and didn’t want to mess with Uber or a taxi. I live within walking distance of The Fish House now and I figured that with St. Patrick’s Day coming up and the fact that it’s a rainy and rotten night out, there’d be plenty of room at the bar. But noooo, it’s jammed in there! This is just like the last time!
As I said, I don’t feel like messing with an Uber so, we’ll improvise!
It’s raining out, but I’ve got an umbrella, so we’ll just take a little hike down the road to The Metro Centre and…
We’ll have a Mexican meal at Jalapeños Metro Bar & Grill! I haven’t been here for a while, so let’s go in and get out of the rain!
There was an open booth, so I snagged it and before you know it, Leslie was bringing me a giant margarita! Leslie reminded me that I took her picture in here last year. She had a mask on back then and now we can reveal her pretty smile on the blog! Great to see her again!
A giant margarita, complimentary chips and salsa and we’re off to a great start in here!
Leslie took my order and now we’ll take a few photos in here while it’s being prepared
In addition to tables, comfortable booths line the walls and I love the chandelier that’s hanging overhead. It’s colorful and kind of abstract!
Holy Guacamole, Batman! They have this cart for fresh table-side Guacamole.
There’s another dining room right beyond the arch wall.
It’s nice back here with more tables and booths.
There’s a side room that you can reserve for a private party, like this group did!
Meanwhile, back at my booth, it appears that dinner is just around the corner!
I got one of the house specialties, the Ranchero Cheese with Steak. It looks amazing!
It came with a side order of rice, which was seasoned perfectly and very tasty.
The Ranchero Cheese is a flour tortilla covered with melted Queso cheese and inside there’s strips of steak, lettuce, tomatoes and even more melted Queso cheese.
You could pick it up, but with all that melted Queso cheese it would be a bit of a sticky mess!
I used my knife and fork and it was a Mexican taste sensation! The steak was tender and savory, it mixed well with the lettuce and tomatoes and all that melted Queso cheese took it to a rich and creamy level of deliciousness!
It was a fantastic dinner and I want to thank my friend Sheila who texted me while I was eating and she volunteered to give me a ride home, which was nice because by the time I was done it was snowing! Thanks, Sheila and thanks to everyone at Jalapenos Metro Bar & Grill for a fantastic Saturday night dinner!
