So a couple weeks ago I posted a tour of the new MBIP World Headquarters.
Within that post I put up a photo of the hallway with this teaser line:
I have big plans for this hallway and I’m hoping to have it completed by August. Stay tuned for a separate blog on that!

Well, its time to reveal my big plans for this hallway and the big plans can be summed up in five words: Joan Jett Hall Of Fame!
I’m going to turn this space into a Peoria Hall of Fame for Joan Jett right here in the MBIP World Headquarters!
Joan Jett and I are the same age. I’ve been a huge fan since she was in The Runaways, which were a groundbreaking all-female, teenage band that played their own instruments and wrote their own songs.
Their first album came out in the summer of 1976 when I had just graduated high school and I was amazed at these girls that were my age and were touring and putting out rock ’n’ roll albums.
They broke up in 1979 and Joan Jett went on to have a successful solo career and was inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015.
I decided to induct her into my own Hall of Fame right here at MBIP World Headquarters and I went to Technicraft to see if they could help me pull this off.
Below you can see the first part of this Joan Jett Hall Of Fame coming to life at Technicraft! This is very exciting!
Here we are at Technicraft, a local family-owned business that’s been in operation since 1969. They’re located on Elm Street in downtown Peoria.
They have fun signs outside of the building but someone needs to tell them that spring is long gone and we’re in the middle of summer!
I went in and Stacy immediately said that they’d love to work on this Joan Jett project and started saving files I brought in.
I told her I’d wander around while she did this and she said that would be perfect. This is one of the friendliest businesses in town. They make everyone feel like you’re the most important customer!
Check out the Marty Monologues poster in Stacy’s area! That was a 3-D print and you can read and see more photos of when that was made by clicking here.
They have a whole wall of frames you can choose from in here and there’s some Grateful Dead art by local artist, Bob Whitaker.
Check out the door that’s wrapped in art, we’re going to be doing the same thing for the Joan Jett Hall Of Fame! Chelsie Tamms from Lettering Works has designed the door art for this project.
There’s the production area of Technicraft.
They are a creative company who’s services include printing, graphic design, branding, business cards, brochures, posters, installation and now they can add creating a Joan Jett Hall Of Fame to their credits!
Stacy came and got me and said they were ready to discuss the Joan Jett Hall Of Fame project.
There’s Stacy with the owner of Technicraft, Tom Whalen.
Both Tom and Stacy were excited about the idea and I appreciate their enthusiasm regarding this Joan Jett project!
I have three large posters, album covers and a vintage Runaways poster for the hall of fame.
We discussed different frames and presentations, but in the end…
I told them just to do whatever they wanted to do and surprise me. I’ve worked with Technicraft many times and I trust their judgement.
I can’t wait for the final results and the installation of this project in the MBIP World Headquarters!
It’ll be installed in a few weeks, so stay tuned for part two of The Joan Jett Hall Of Fame at MBIP World Headquarters!
