This week we’re going to be sampling the pizza at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom at The Shoppes At Grand Prairie.
And so it’s off we go on another saucy journey!
Here we are at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom and they’re open, so that’s great news!
Let’s go in and start this week’s Peoria pizza adventure!
I love the pizza slice door handles in here!
Megan and Evan were doing duty behind the host station and we’re meeting two special guest stars tonight. They told me that they had arrived and instructed me to go down the aisle to meet them in their booth.
And there’s the tops of their heads in the aforementioned booth!
It’s my friends, Amber and Joe! Great to see them as always and they’re both looking great on this sunny summer evening!
This is our pretty waitress Natalie delivering our pre-dinner drinks.
She took our dinner order and I’m going to go take some photos in the bar area.
They have a dining area in the bar with tables opposite the massive wooden bar in here.
There’s gaming machines in the back of the room.
If you make it through the Old Chicago World Beer Tour…
You get your name on this plaque in the Old Chicago Hall of Foam!
When I got back to our booth, the appetizers had arrived and they look amazing!
We got the Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls and the Buffalo Chicken wings.
The Pepperoni Rolls are baked with their signature dough and stuffed with savory pepperoni, green onions and rich and creamy cheese. They are a tasty delight!
The Buffalo Chicken Wings were plump, juicy and had just the right amount of spice to them. They were very flavorful wings.
There’s Amber and Joe enjoying the pre-pizza appetizers!
Derek is the manager here and he stopped by to say hello. Hello Derek!
And here’s the star of the show, this week’s pizza pie!
We Got the Tavern Thin Cheese Pizza. This pizza is described as made with their signature crust stretched thin and baked crispy.
There’s Amber and Joe sampling the pizza pie.
The pizza was tasty and I enjoyed it. The only thing that all of us agreed on was that it wasn’t quite as crispy as it could have been. There also could’ve been a little more sauce on it.
But I enjoyed it and it was a decent pizza pie.

THIS WEEK’S RATING
——
The Rating System
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).

This was a tasty pizza pie and I’m giving it a 7.1 rating. It could’ve been a little crispier and a little more saucy, but it was a decent pizza pie.
