Live from Peoria, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Kenny’s Westside Pub and featuring special guest stars, Sean Kenny and Cramer! Plus there’s musical guests, FDK (First Date Kiss) and The Alison Hanna Band.
Now please welcome, from beautiful downtown Peoria, this week’s host, Kenny’s Westside Pub!
Here we are at Kenny’s Westside Pub in beautiful downtown Peoria!
After a long delay due to last year’s rotten pandemic, live music is back in Peoria and as you can see from the sign, Kenny’s Westside Pub is back to hosting some fabulous shows!
Last year they put up this impressive beer patio for outside dining and drinking. You can watch the cars glide on by while you relax at a table out here.
But I’m going inside, there’s a place I’ve been longing to sit at for over a year now…
And there it is, the bar at Kenny’s Westside Pub!
Let’s snag a seat and get settled in!
Randy was the friendly bartender on duty and here he is serving me up an ice-cold drink. He took my order and now let’s take a look around in here. It’s been way too long since I’ve spent a night in Kenny’s Westside Pub!
There’s the back of the bar and above hangs the original Kenny’s Westside Pub sign from the original spot on Farmington Road.
Here’s a shot from the front of the pub, there’s comfortable booths to dine at opposite the bar and in the back are discreet gaming machines for all of you gamblers out there!
I love the signage and art on the walls here in Kenny’s.
Meanwhile, back at the bar…
It’s time for our Saturday night dinner!
I started off with an order of the Westside Pretzels and Cheese.
These are tasty deep-fried pretzel bites that are tossed in ranch seasoning. They’re crispy on the outside and soft when you bite into them and the rich and creamy cheese sauce compliments them perfectly!
What a great start to our Saturday night dinner!
For the main course I got a bowl of Kenny’s Traditional Irish Stew.
This is an amazing comfort-style dish!
There’s large chunks of tender beef that melts in your mouth with potatoes, onion, carrots, bacon, celery and it’s all swimming in rich, savory gravy and served on a slice of sourdough bread.
This is a tasty, satisfying dish that you can only find at Kenny’s Westside Pub!
As I finished up my Saturday night dinner, the esteemed owner and host at Kenny’s Westside Pub, Sean Kenny appeared behind the bar!
It was great to see him and Sean said that 2020 was a rough year, but they managed to survive. He said crowd’s have been great since the live music has come back and things are going fantastic.
That’s great news and now, speaking of live music…
Let’s go check out the other room in Kenny’s Westside Pub, inside of this doorway.
Here’s where the live music happens in Kenny’s Westside Pub.
The two gentlemen in the back in the first photo run a state-of-the-art mixing board for the band’s sound and they also provide professional lighting for every show.
The musical shows here are first class and Kenny’s is the place for live music in Peoria.
There’s also a full bar back here and I love the custom-made Kenny’s table tops!
There’s the impressive stage that’s empty now, but not for long!
Ladies and gentlemen, time to start tonight’s live music extravaganza from Kenny’s Westside Pub.
The opening act for the evening is a duo who’s making their first appearance at Kenny’s Westside Pub, please welcome…
FDK (First Date Kiss)
FDK (First Date Kiss) opened the show and they did a fantastic job. The duo is Andy J. Martinez on vocals and guitar and Asher Feeman on percussion.
They play pop, rock and alt rock and in the end they were joined by Roy Ponce on guitar and Perry Brubaker on bass.
Check out FDK on facecrack and you can watch this set by clicking here.
After the first set, I went back to the pub side for a drink and I saw a strange, fuzzy apparition standing before me…
It’s Cramer! He’s back at Kenny’s and it was so great to see him here again! We caught up with each other and then it was time for the headlining act to take the stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome…
The Alison Hanna Band!
The Alison Hanna Band set the crowd on fire from the first notes they played.
They are a soulful rocking band with Alison Hanna on lead vocals and guitar, Roy Ponce on lead guitar and vocals, Perry Brubaker on stand-up bass and Bob Kelly on drums.
They play soul-inspired originals and cover songs and you can follow Alison on Instagram and facecrack.
This was such a great live show! You can see the entire performance by clicking here.
I’m so happy that live music is back at Kenny’s Westside Pub.
It dawned on me while watching the live music that Kenny’s Westside Pub is entertainingly schizophrenic.
There’s the pub side with the bar, dining tables and booths for relaxation, socialization, drinks and Kenny’s amazing home-cooked food.
Then there’s the music room that’s the most professional place to hear live music in Peoria. Sean Kenny has built a room that’s beyond your normal bar-band live music venue.
He’s got a room with an impressive stage, a full bar and two men running a state-of-the-art mixing board and impressive lighting.
This is a professional musical ballroom! Maybe Sean should tweak the name to Kenny’s Westside Pub & Ballroom? Just throwing that out there!
Check out and support the live music every weekend at Kenny’s and there’s also the weekly open stage nights every Wednesday. Follow the shows by clicking here.
Thanks to Sean Kenny and his crew for providing this impressive and fun entertainment mecca in downtown Peoria!
