Yesterday was Lita Ford’s birthday and this Tuesday is Joan Jett’s birthday. So the only natural thing to do today is to put up seven links to online articles about the band that they both started in: The Runaways!
I loved this band when I was in high school and they never have gotten the respect that they are due. As one of the first all female rock ’n’ roll bands, playing their own songs and instruments, they knocked down doors for female rockers like Debbie Harry, The Bangles and The Go-Go’s, not to mention the whole Riot Grrl movement in the ’90’s.
In addition to the article links there’s also a link to a video with Joan Jett and Cherie Currie talking about the band and then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions! So there!

Monday: It’s the 7th Annual Amber Birthday Extravaganza! This year features a pandemic socially distant road trip to Kenny’s Westside Pub, Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern and the final stop at Agatucci’s Restaurant! Plus birthday cake from Trefzger’s Bakery! It was a nice treat to get out and about and to celebrate Amber’s birthday!
Tuesday: I’ll be putting up another Social Distant Sunday Post, but I’m not sure what I’m going to do today, I need to figure that out!
Wednesday: I’m getting a final tour of Sky Harbor Steakhouse from owner Daryl Klusendorf, before he takes his memorabilia out of there. This will be a bittersweet day for sure.
Thursday: I’ll be cooking up another Thursday Minute Marty Meal and I’m thinking I’m going to make a sandwich this week. Stay tuned to see what I whip up!
Friday: The MBIP Eats Arby’s series will continue and I’m going back to order the same sandwiches I got last week and they better have bacon in them this time!
Saturday: We’ll be spotlighting yet another pizza pie in the weekly Pizzas of Peoria series.
Have a wonderful and funderful Sunday, everybody and we’ll see you all tomorrow. Happy birthday, Amber!
