When it comes to Peoria and pizza one name springs to a lot of people’s minds: Butch’s!
Butch’s Pizza started out by being served in tavernss here in Peoria then they expanded to grocery stores and are now the best known and number one frozen pizza in the Peoria area and they ship their pizzas nationwide.
Butch’s Pizza was founded by Butch and Barb Carey in 1982 in the back of an old body shop. They expanded through the years and they now operate out of their own building in Morton, Illinois with a full staff of employees making their delicious pizza pies.
I’m friends with Butch Carey’s son Tim who runs this saucy operation now and in 2015, he and his wife Colleen were co-hosts of an MBIP Butch’s Pizza Party at The Red Barn.
Let’s go back in time to see a few photos of this festive evening and there’s a link to the original post, plus a bonus link to a tour of Butch’s Pizza from 2013!
Oh Sherman…
Set the Wayback Machine for January 13th, 2015 and let’s go to…
The Red Barn, one of Peoria’s classic bars where they’ve been serving up drinks, live music and Butch’s Pizza for decades!
Thomas and Cherry were the bartenders on duty that evening.
Here’s the co-hosts for the evening, Tim and Colleen Carey
In addition to being friends, the three of us were once all co-workers at Fleming Potter, many moons ago!
Always great to see their smiling faces!
A nice crowd showed up for the pizza party and you can see some of the guests by clicking on the link to the original post below.
Here’s Tim with the first Butch’s Pizza of the evening, we went through quite a few of them as the night wore on and everyone loved every single bite!
Ladies and gentlemen, I happily present this week’s Pizza of Peoria, Butch’s Frozen Pizza!
