Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Biaggi’s with special guest stars, Amber and Joe and featuring Chuck and Diane celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!
Now, please welcome this week’s host, Biaggi’s!
Alright, this is a special MBIP post. I haven’t been out to eat to a restaurant since this whole Covid 19 shit blew up. My doctor told me not to go to them or bars till this is over, but today is a special occasion.
My friends Amber and Joe invited me to their parents Chuck and Diane’s 50th wedding anniversary dinner at Biaggi’s and I couldn’t pass that up. So I put on my mask and here we are at Biaggi’s in the Westlake shopping center.
This place has their face mask sign in the window, so I’m thinking it’s a safe place to have dinner. Let’s go in and start a rare Saturday night out on the town!
Bella was at the hostess station and she told me where the Chuck and Diane party was located.
But before I went there, I got a few shots of the other dining room and the bar.
Okay, let’s go down this hallway to the dining room on the left of the building.
There’s tables in the center of the room and comfortable and plush booths line the outer and inner walls.
I see a couple of familiar faces in the room here in the back.
I settled in and our server Paige agreed to take a photo of our party.
Here we are, from left to right it’s: Chuck, Diane, Joe, Amber and Yours Fooly.
It was nice to have this back room, the whole restaurant is set up for socially distant dining and this area felt particularly safe.
Chuck and Diane told us that they were married on this exact date back in 1970! Cheers to them and I’m excited to be part of this celebration of their marriage!
They have a lot of choices on the menu. They specialize in Italian food and they have marvelous pizza, pasta and tasty specials of the day.
I’m kind of rusty at doing restaurant blogs and I forgot to take pictures of our food. But for the record, Amber had Ravioli Quattro Frommagi, Joe had Lasagna Bolognese, Diane had Butternut Squash Ravioli and Chuck and I had the special of the day, which I can’t remember what the name of it was. It had shrimp and crab meat and it was delicious!
The food here is off the chart fantastic. If you’ve never dined here I highly recommend it!
I did get a picture of the bread bowl. Kind of a David Gates moment!
For dessert, Amber and Joe brought a celebratory anniversary cake from Trefzger’s Bakery!
Happy 50th wedding anniversary, Chuck and Diane! Cheers to you both and here’s to many more years to come! Thanks for your friendship and kindness, you’re two of the best people in the world!
Thanks to Amber and Joe for inviting me to this fun dinner, I had a blast! Now I need to go and take my temperature!
