Okay, this week we’re really going back in time, we’re going back to a post that happened over seven years ago!
This post is from 2013 and the blog wasn’t even one year old yet!
I went to The Fish House and as a goof, I ordered a cheeseburger, knowing full well that there wasn’t a cheeseburger on the menu and they made one specially for me. And it was one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had.
Check it out below and there’s a link to the original post from all those years ago!
Sherman, set the Wayback Machine for March 25, 2013 and we’ll be traveling to The Fish House!
And baboom, here we are at the Fish House. I love their sparkly sign!
They have one of the darkest bars in Peoria. It always makes me think of my old friend and 365 co-pilot, Al!
There’s Paul, the veteran Fish House bartender serving up an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser!
And before you know it, it looks like it’s just about time for our cheeseburger dinner!
Wow, it looks really delicious!
When I ordered a cheeseburger here, I really didn’t think that I’d get one, but this is one impressive looking cheeseburger meal!
This was such a wonderful cheeseburger especially when you consider there’s not a cheeseburger on the menu!
The off the menu cheeseburger was made with Black Angus ground sirloin with a more than generous glob of cheddar cheese melted on top of it. It was really juicy without being greasy and the ground sirloin was really tasty.
The crowning point of any cheeseburger is the bun and this one was fabulous. They created a special bun by flattening out a couple of their signature sour dough dinner rolls and then lightly toasting them. The burger was garnished with lettuce and it was truly one of the best burger’s I’ve ever eaten!
The Fish House is one of Peoria’s best known restaurants and you can check out the entire menu here.
