Okay, it’s been in kind of challenging doing this blog in the midst of a pandemic. I’m in a high risk group due to previous heart problems so I no longer can go to bars or mingle much in restaurants.
I was doing a socially-distancing theme here on the Tuesday post, but I’ve decided to try something new. I’ve always hated the saying, “Taco Tuesday” and have been actively opposing it for years, if you follow me on Twitter you may have seen one of my “Fuck Taco Tuesday” Tweets, if not here’s one of them below.
So I decided to start my own taco day and get a taco every Monday until this fucking pandemic is over and I can go back to covering my normal food tour posts. The food tour that’s been interrupted due to the pandemic is a 26 week tour of Mexican restaurants. I was avoiding tacos on this tour because it seemed too obvious.
This taco tour will end when the pandemic is over and then we’ll slide back into the Mexican food tour, it’ll be a smooth transition!
How many weeks will this last? Well, we’ll know when it’s all over, time to go get taco number one!
Here we are at El Taco Loco! This was the second stop on the Mexican food tour that was interrupted because of the pandemic. I got a Monterey taco for that post, we’ll try something different today.
As you can see, they have a good selection of tacos here and I’ll have to come back here, I’m not limiting my places for this taco tour and I can visit places more than once. There are no rules for this taco-eating tour!
There’s indoor dining here again and there’s seats available along the railing on the perimeter of the walls in here.
Check out the daily taco specials, $1.99 tacos, such a deal!
I love the art in here!
Check out the Mexican soft drinks available for sale here!
These two served up this weekly taco with smiles, you just can’t see them under the masks! But I appreciate them wearing them!
We’re back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area with the wrapped up taco of the week with a jar of sauce that we got with it.
Here we are squirting some lime juice on the taco and adding liberal amounts of the sauce to the taco.
The taco is a seasoned pork taco, by the way. This is their Al Pastor taco and it looks delicious!
Wow, what a fantastic taco!
The pork was juicy and tender and the sauce was spicy and flavorful. Savory, tasty and delicious!
Even the taco droppings were scrumptious!
Taco week number one was a tasty delight! This was a delicious taco.
And just for the record: Fuck Taco Tuesday!
