I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of yet another food tour! It all started on October 17, 2017 and now it comes to an end. To wrap it up, I thought we’d take a road trip out of town. I let MBIP Wheelman and pal, Scott Turley pick the final meaty destination and he picked a restaurant in Canton called Big Racks...hey, what’s that...someone’s knocking at the door...
Stormy Daniels...yeah, I know you’ve got a big rack, but we’re going to a restaurant called Big Racks. Okay, you better run along, every time I see you I get a mental picture of you and Donald Trump having sex and I feel like vomiting up circus peanuts, so we'll see you later, hopefully when Trump gets impeached!
Okay, this is more like it, It’s MBIP Wheelman and in honor of the last week of our steak tour, he’s brought some gifts! The first is a can of Charles Chips! I haven’t had those things in decades!
He also brought me a Morrie’s Wig Shop t-shirt! Morrie is one of my favorite characters from Goodfellas and that’s so cool! The Charles Chips were just as good as I remembered! Thanks Scott! We’re off to a great start and we haven’t even left MBIP World Headquarters!
Alright, we’re off and there’s the Canton city limits. And over there is the Big Racks Streakhouse drive-by shot.
Wow, this place lives up to its name, it sure is big! Scott opens the door and check it out, it’s Felipe from the Village People. He’s the second Village Person I’ve met, click here and scroll down to see another one I met at Sardi’s in New York! All of a sudden I have an urge to go to the YMCA!
Here’s the front foyer and Michelle was there to greet us at the host station. We asked if there was a bar and she told us there was and led us through the dining room to where it’s situated in the back of the restaurant. She then showed off her multi-tasking skills by serving us up a beer after seating us, very nice!
We checked out the steak section on the menu and Michelle made a suggestion and both Scott and I took her advice. Keep on scrolling to see what steak she recommended.
The bar is very impressive and like everything in here, it’s big! There’s the trio of beers on tap and I took a photo behind the bar and one from the other end of where we were seated.
How can you resist this challenge? I couldn’t and it wasn’t hot at all. Kind of a gyp, but let’s keep moving along here.
Here’s the massive dining room and check out the ceiling, those are stuffed ducks hanging overhead. Of course they’re stuffed, they live in a restaurant. Sorry about that, just couldn’t help myself!
Here’s more taxidermied animals. This place is kind of like a zoo with stationary animals. They’re all well-trained with the command of: “Stay!”
Wooden booths line the far wall and there’s floor to ceiling windows around the entire perimeter of the restaurant and bar with a gorgeous view of the lake outside.
Meanwhile, back in the bar, Michelle has gotten some help. That’s Stephanie to the right, who’s taking over for Michelle. And those bottles they've put out can only mean one thing...
It’s time for the final steak of the seven month tour! Michelle suggested the filet and so both Scott and I chose that and there’s Scott digging in to his already. After one bite he gave it a thumbs up, which I was happy about because that way none of his steak got spit over on me!
The steak comes with two sides and I chose the cole slaw and steamed vegetables in honor of Chad Wallace. The filet looks fabulous!
Since this is the last steak, I had to douse it in A-1 Sauce! It’s cooked perfectly and this was one fantastic steak! Really tender, juicy, lean and so flavorful! I love Big Racks, this was a great choice by Scott!
That was my last steak, but we’re not done yet, there’s a judgement night coming up this Friday and then the wrap-up next Tuesday.
Ward, I’m worried about the Beaver, there’s lots of great steaks here and he keeps eating that tree!
Steak Rating
Four Elsie the Cows—Big Racks Steakhouse is worth the trip to Canton, great food, nice people and a wonderful atmosphere. And you have to love that they have dead animals in and out of the kitchen!
