Live from West Peoria, it’s Saturday Night Cheeseburger starring this week’s host, Duck’s and featuring special guest stars, Moon/Jeff, Jim/Butch, LJ and Jamie!
Now please welcome, from Farmington Road in West Peoria, this week’s host, Duck’s!
I remember this building as Bill King’s, then it became The Dormitory, then it was the launching pad for Kenny’s Westside Pub before they moved downtown and then it was Shelton’s.
It’s now part of the Crusen’s Bar empire and it’s called, Duck’s in honor of Don “Duck” Crusen. As you can see from the sign, they open at 6am, seven days a week. You can spend the entire day and evening here!
Let’s go inside and start this week’s Saturday Night adventure in Duck’s!
As soon as I walked in, I see a couple of familiar faces…
It’s my friends and the special guest stars for the evening, Jeff and Jim…or you may know them as Moon and Butch! Either way, it’s hreat to see them and now we can let our evening begin! Hoo and hah!
LJ was bartending and he brought me a can of Bud Light…fantastic service in here!
We checked out the menu and Jamie took our order while flashing a beautiful smile for the MBIP Camera!
Here’s two shots from both sides of the bar in the front room. There was a fun and friendly crowd in here!
As you can see, they have a nice inventory of booze in here and there’s a half a dozen beers on tap. Cheers!
There’s another room over here with a dining area and the other side of the bar to sit and relax at.
I ran into my friend Marzena who was at a table dining with friends in here. She’s looking great and it was a nice surprise to see her in here!
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our Saturday night dinner is starting to arrive!
We started off with an order of the Buffalo Shrimp.
These are hand-battered shrimp that are tossed in a tasty and spicy Buffalo sauce. These were some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had and a fabulous start to this evening’s dinner!
As I was eating the shrimp, I happened to look up and see this Peoria Cheifs sign up on the ceiling! Nice, go Chiefs!
Now the main courses have arrived!
From the top: Moon got the Bacon & Aioli Burger with a side of waffle fries, Butch got the Sloppy Duck Sandwich which comes with chips and I got the Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of cole slaw.
Everything thing looks fantastic, let’s dig in!
Here’s an action shot of Moon and Butch feasting on their dinners! They both raved about their dinners and said everything was prepared to perfection!
I always say that the bun can make or break a burger and this one is buttered and grilled to perfection! I added some onions and now let’s take a bite of this week’s cheeseburger!
Wow, this is one tasty cheeseburger!
It’s a smashburger topped with rich, melted pepperjack cheese. The smoky and savory bacon adds a nice balance to the cheese and onions and the burger is cooked perfectly and has a fabulous flavor.
And, as I mentioned, the bun is toasted, buttery and bakery fresh!
Here’s the man responsible for all of this fantastic food, Chef Jose!
He did a fabulous job and all three of us thanked him for the wonderful work and detail he put into our orders!
