Last month on July 8th, it was the 42nd anniversary of the Go-Go’s debut album, Beauty and the Beat. This was a landmark album because it was the first album by an all female band who played their own instruments and wrote their own songs to hit the number one spot on the Billboard Charts.
The album had two hit singles, “Our Lips Are Sealed” and one of the Go-Go’s biggest hits, “We Got The Beat.”
In honor of this anniversary, I’ve got six links to online articles about this legendary album and one video link from the band celebrating the 30th anniversary over 10 years ago.
And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s coming up on the blog next week. So there!
