This week instead of going out for a grilled cheese, the grilled cheese is coming to us. More specifically it’s being shipped to the MBIP World Headquarters!
The other week I was looking around on the Goldbelly food site and happened to see a Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich on there from Maine. Yep, you read that right, Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich!
Well I had to order that and it just showed up! So it’s off to the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area we go for a cheesy afternoon!
The sandwiches were packed in dry ice and you can let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
They come with a tub of butter from Maine and I’ve also got some Nacho Cheese Sauce and Ken’s Honey Mustard to make a cheese dipping sauce for the sandwich!
Here’s the sandwich thawed out and ready to be grilled. The bread is sourdough, there’s two kinds of cheese, Fontina and Sharp White Cheddar. And of course there’s plenty of fresh lobster from Maine!
I’ve never had a Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich, so this is exciting!
They had specific directions which said to melt the Maine butter in one pan while pre-heating another one on the stove.
The instructions said to let the sandwich soak on both sides of the melted butter pan and then place it on the pre-heated pan.
I followed the directions and this is looking and smelling so good!
The cheese sauce is simple to make, just dump the nacho cheese and honey mustard into the buttery pan and let it warm up and get nice and melty!
I added a little Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce for a little kick in the pants!
Okay, it’s grilled cheese time, everyone!
The sandwich looks unbelievable and as you can see, lobster is literally falling off of it!
Let’s dig in and give it a try!
Oh my god! This is so rich, creamy, tasty and delightful!
The bread is grilled and buttery and the lobster is rich and succulent and blends so well with the melted Fontina and Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
The hot cheese sauce took it to a level I’ve never experienced with a grilled cheese sandwich!
I’ve got another one in the freezer, so I may try and think of a way to do a second Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich on here. Stay tuned for that!

Cheesy Rating
(4 Slice Rating System)
This gets a four slice rating, it’s probably the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had!
Since I cooked this, I’m keeping this separate from the restaurant and bar grilled cheese sandwiches, so Kenny’s Westside Pub is still out in front of the others!
