Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Thyme Kitchen + Craft Bar and featuring special guest stars, Tami, Brendan, Ben and Brock.
Now please welcome, all the way from the Warehouse District in beautiful downtown Peoria, this week’s host, Thyme Kitchen + Craft Bar!
Here we are at Thyme Kitchen + Craft Beer on Washington Street in the Warehouse District of downtown Peoria.
This used to be a Sealtest building and I love that they left the “ghost” signage on the outer wall.
Okay, let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday Night!
It says to see host for seating, so that’s exactly what we’ll do!
Brendan and Tami were at the host station and they not only graciously posed for the MBIP Camera, they told me to feel free to grab a seat at the bar. Sounds like a perfect plan to me!
The bar in here is large and magnificent! Let’s grab a seat and get settled in for the evening.
Ben and Brock are the two mixologists on duty and they know their trade, Thyme has a number of classic and special cocktails and these guys know them backwards and forwards. It was fun watching them in action!
Wow, check out the row of taps behind the bar. They have 40 beers on tap, quite the selection!
If you’re a whiskey connoisseur, you need to check this place out, the bar features over 250 selections of whiskey, bourbon and scotch!
There’s tables opposite the bar for dining or for drinking.
The gastropub features a dining area in the front and one in the back.
There’s also an upstairs loft that can be used for large parties like bridal showers, family gatherings and more. It’s got a great birds-eye-view of the bar and the dining room. One fun thing about dining up here is that you can throw ice cubes and food at those dining below you!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like my Saturday night dinner is just about to happen!
I started the meal off with an order of their smoked wings. They have several styles and I got the Buffalo BBQ and they were juicy and delicious.
We’re off to wonderful start here!
Here’s the main course: a meatloaf sandwich with Tater tots!
They have a very unique menu here with selections you won’t find at many other restaurants such as Asian Tuna Tacos, Pasta in a Jar and a Vegetarian Tenderloin among many others.
The Tater tot was crispy and seasoned perfectly.
Now on to the star of tonight’s dinner, Mr. Meatloaf Sandwich!
Wow, this is one incredible sandwich!
The meatloaf is smoked and there’s a layer of creamy mashed potatoes along with crispy onions and smoky tomato sauce. The hoagie roll is bakery fresh and this is one unique and tasty take on a meatloaf sandwich!
And in closing, may I present my patent-pending “Oh, deer,” shot!
