The Ramones released their fifth studio album, “End of the Century” 43 years ago on February 5th of 1980. It was a highly anticipated album because legendary producer Phil Spector was producing the album.
While it ended up being their highest charting album, it didn’t break them into the mainstream the way they had hoped it would. The album peaked at number 44 on the Billboard Charts and The Ramones never worked with Phil Spector again.
There are some legendary stories about the making of this LP and I’ve got six links to online articles about this historical album. There’s also a link to a video with Johnny and Dee Dee talking about what a nightmare it was to work with Phil Spector.
And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s happening on the blog next week! So there!
