The Long And Winding Road is a musical extravaganza/tribute to The Beatles musical history. It’s put together and produced by musician Craig Moore (who also owns Younger Than Yesterday Records) and it’s a show I’ve wanted to see, but every time they had a performance, I had something else going on.
Finally last Sunday I was able to see this wonderful production featuring the cream of Peoria’s crop of musicians, plus special guest star, recording artist Matthew Curry at the 3300 Event Center, which a lot of us remember as the building formerly known as The Second Chance!
I went armed with the MBIP Camera, so let’s go re-live the show with the following photos. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
Here we are at 3300 Event Center, as I mentioned in the introduction, it’s the place formerly known as Second Chance.
The food for the evening was catered in by Slow Hand Craft BBQ.
After I checked in at the front desk I saw some familiar faces!
From the top, there’s Wes, Dave, Tim and Pete and Jeanette and Tim. Jeanette’s a fellow YouTuber and you can check out her channels by clicking on these links: The Sunnyland Seller and JB’s Explore & More.
Tim’s playing in the band tonight, so you’ll see more of him onstage!
Of course the first stop is the bar and I got a can of Budweiser from the friendly and pretty bartender, Tonya!
The stage is all set with instruments and I even went to the third tier and snapped a photo from up there.
I snagged a front row seat and here’s a shot of the crowd. It’s just about sold out!
Here’s the musicians coming out on stage and they opened up with a rousing version of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
They naturally followed that up with “A Little Help From My Friends” and then went on to play every Beatles song you could imagine. And speaking of “Imagine,” they touched upon some of their solo work as well.
This show has so many talented musicians, it’s really mind-blowing!
The musicians performing tonight include: Matt Warren, Craig Moore, Don Mabus, Tim Brickner, Curt Caudill, Francis Valentino, Josh Bradshaw, Jim Curless, Tom Stoner, Jon Hill, Chris Delbridge, Rich Teegarden and The Plastic Ono Chorus.
This is a show where it’s like seeing a multitude of bands because there’s so many talented singers and players all taking different turns with different Beatle tunes.
It’s a musical sensation!
This is truly one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen!
As I mentioned, Matthew Curry was the special guest star and he came out in the second half of the show and tore the roof off of the joint!
Matthew’s from Bloomington, Illinois and has toured with Peter Frampton, The Steve Miller Band, The Doobie Brothers and Blackberry Smoke among other well-known artists.
He’s just 27-years-old, but he started playing the guitar at age four, so he’s a seasoned performer at his young age and it definitely shows!
Here’s his upcoming touring schedule.
All the musicians came up on stage for the closing Beatles tune, “Hello, Goodbye.”
Thanks to Craig Moore and all of the musicians for putting on a spectacular show! I hope there’s a second anniversary show, because I’d love to see it again!
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
