Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, The Fox Pub and featuring special guest stars, Amber, Joe, Matt and Cass.
Now please welcome this week’s host, The Fox Pub!
Here we are at The Fox Pub on a chilly Saturday night.
Let’s get inside and I hope they have the heat turned on!
It’s nice and toasty warm here in the main dining room and I see a couple of familiar faces over at that table…
It’s my friends and frequent MBIP guest stars, Amber and Joe!
They’re both looking fabulous and it’s always fun having Saturday night dinner with these two!
Matt Rixner, who owns The Fox Pub with his wife Cortney came over and said hi. Matt said that business has been booming and The Fox Pub is off to a wonderful start in 2023.
If you ever want to hear Matt on the radio, tune in to Rik & Roxy in the Morning on 99.9 WWCT on Fridays. Matt appears on a segment called, “Kegs and Eggs” and it’s always a fun and entertaining segment!
Always great to see Matt, he’s one of the friendliest and nicest bar owners in Peoria and beyond!
The seasonal Winter Feature Menu is now available till spring.
Stop in and try these dishes out now, because in a few months they’ll be off the menu as spring is sprung!
Cass took our order while flashing a beautiful smile our way!
The bar is located at the front of The Fox Pub, opposite the main dining room.
As you can see, there’s a huge selection of beers on tap and it’s a revolving mix of fine craft beer. They also have a nice choice of bottled and can beers on the drink menu.
There’s some taps from the past on a mantle over the door.
The Fox Pub is Peoria’s only British-themed bar and their motto is: “Eat, Drink and be English!”
Check out the unplanned obligatory mirror shot in the telephone booth! I love it when that happens!
My favorite table in here is over in this corner with the fireplace and the English knick-knacks on the mantle above.
There’s another large dining room in the back. You never have to wait for a table at The Fox Pub!
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Dinner has arrived!
Joe got the Cajun Mac N’ Cheese from the Winter Menu, Amber ordered the classic Fish and Chops meal and I got the Lemon Pepper Chicken Leg dinner.
Everything looks delicious and wonderful!
There’s Amber and Joe enjoying their tasty dinners.
Joe got the Cajun Mac N’ Cheese which is macaroni in a rich cheddar cheese sauce with chicken, andouille sausage, peppers, onion and the dish is topped off with Cajun seasoned cracker crumbles.
Amber’s Fish and Chips dinner consists of a half pound beer-battered haddock filet with hand-cut fries and a side of coleslaw.
They both raved about their dinners!
My Lemon Pepper Chicken Leg dinner came with two side dishes, an asparagus medley and mashed potatoes and gravy.
The asparagus medley was a mixture of sauteed asparagus, mushrooms and onion and it was a flavorful treat!
The potatoes were mashed red potatoes covered in a rich and savory gravy. These were two tasty side dishes, now on to the star of the show…
The Lemon Pepper Chicken Legs! These were beyond tasty!
The Lemon Pepper seasoning was zesty, peppery and had a nice spicy flavor. The chicken legs were crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.
This was such a delicious and satisfying meal, it was truly one of the best Saturday night dinners ever!
Even though we were full, we splurged and ordered the Winter Waffle for dessert.
The Winter Waffle is vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, maple syrup, and dark morello cherries. At the bottom is a hot, sugared Belgian waffle, which Amber is displaying!
What a sweet treat to finish off a fabulous Saturday night dinner!
Thanks to Amber and Joe for hanging out and having Saturday night dinner with me!
And thanks to Matt, Cass and everyone at The Fox Pub for a fun and delicious Saturday night dinner!
Good knight and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
