When two places shut down for the season here in Peoria, you know summer is over and Old Man Winter is lurking right around the corner in all his frostbitten glory.
Lou’s Drive-In is one of those places and it closed a couple of week’s ago on Labor Day.
Emo’s is the other one and it closed last Sunday.
I went last Sunday to get one last summer treat and pay my last respects as this year’s season grind’s to a halt.
And of course I documented the final 2022 trip with the MBIP Camera, so you can join me as I visit Emo’s for one last trip of the year.
Come on, let’s take a trip to last Sunday and head off to Emo’s last day of the summer season.
Here we are at Emo’s and there’s the creepy clown up on top of the roof.
Hello, creepy clown.
Wow, there’s a big crowd here, look’s like I wasn’t the only one wanting to pay my last respects to the end of the season of Emo’s.
These two were working hard behind the window, but took a couple of seconds to pose for the MBIP Camera!
Thanks for the beautiful smiles, ladies!
The last day was last Sunday, so if you want an Emo’s treat, you’re going to have to wait until they re-open next season.
They only take cash, but that shouldn’t be a problem because…
They have their very own ATM personalized with wrap-around art featuring the creepy clown.
There was one empty table available, so I went over and snagged it!
There’s my final Emo’s treat of the season, let’s unwrap it and see what I got.
I got a chili-cheese dog with onions and mustard of course!
It’s just the thing to do on the last day of Emo’s. Come on, you knew that!
And I also got a Turtle Wizard.
Chocolate, caramel, peanuts all housed within creamy vanilla ice cream.
A sweet and tasty treat to end the summer season.
Thanks for a delicious season, Emo’s.
Goodbye creepy clown, see you next summer!
