Last week I saw this post at Kenny’s Westside Pub’s facecrack page and I left a comment about it, see the screenshot below.
I’m a man of my word, so let’s go and get a Sean’s Dublin Dip for this week’s luncheon post!
Here we are at Kenny’s Westside Pub, probably the only place to get a full meal after midnight in Peoria! Let’s go in and let this luncheon adventure begin!
We’re meeting a special luncheon guest star and I think I see her at a booth over to the left, let’s go and say hi.
This is my friend Tricia, who’s just written her first book and she’s holding a prototype copy in her hands.
This is exciting because just a few months ago we met and she had no idea how to take her book that she had written to a final stage that she could have printed and sold online and in stores.
I gave her a few tips and wondered if she’d follow through and lo and behold she did it!
I’m really proud of her and happy that she followed through with her dream of making this book a reality. I love the cover!
Tricia describes the book as, “One woman's journey through life. The good and bad sharp left hand turns that come her way. You will laugh, cry, wonder and maybe see a little of your own life.”
This is her story that begins in Saugerties, New York and ends up in Pekin, Illinois.
Along the way she experiences school, work, marriage, motherhood, life, death and healing. It’s an interesting and intriguing life story and there’s special guest appearances including John Sebastian and Lee Marvin.
Tricia’s nom de plume is P.A. Nimmo (here’s her facecrack page) and she’s working on last-minute production issues and the book will be ready to purchase in a few weeks.
We’ll have a celebratory lunch and announce the publication and where you can buy the book right here on the blog, so stay tuned for that!
Jaime came over and took our lunch order and flashed us a beautiful smile! Always great to see her, now let’s take a look around in here.
There’s the long wooden bar and at the end is a sign announcing that Kenny’s is back.
They were closed for about six week’s last summer for remodeling, but they’re back and the live music is happening here once again!
I love all the photos and art on the walls in here.
There’s a gaming area placed discreetly in the back of the bar.
Here’s a shot from the back of the bar.
Behind this door is where the live music happens, but since this is lunch time, there’s no live music. I’ll come back soon for a show, stay tuned!
Meanwhile, back at our booth, there’s Jaime delivering our lunch, let’s go and dig in!
Tricia had a light lunch with a cup of Kilkenny Irish Cheddar Soup.
I’ve had this soup many times and it’s a rich and hearty delight. The soup is cheddar based and it is creamy and delicious. It’s topped with crispy bacon, green onions and house-made croutons.
I had to keep my promise I made on facecrack and I got Sean’s Dublin Dip sandwich with a side order of tots and cheese.
The sandwich comes with a side of Kenny’s house-made Irish Stew for dipping and it is a savory and delicious sandwich!
The roast beef is tender and juicy and the bun is bakery fresh. It’s topped off with rich, melted Provolone cheese. When you dip it into the Irish Stew it takes it to a tasty and heavenly level!
Congratulations to Tricia / P.A Nimmo on the almost completion of her book, Running Blind in Traffic!
Stay tuned for the announcement of the release of her book!
