Sam’s Club is known for their inexpensive $1.50 hot dog and drink combo but I’ve never had it because I’m not a member. I’m not a big fan of chain stores and it really bugs me when a store forces you to be a member to shop there.
I’ve never liked clubs, never played sports because I don’t want to be part of a team and thinking about all of this just makes me want to beat someone to death with a baseball bat.
Having said that, I am curious about this hot dog and my brother Tom was picking me up after I dropped my car off for an oil change and he’s a Sam’s Club member, so we decided to go and have a hot dog lunch at Sam’s Club.
So it’s off we go to Sam’s Club!
There’s my. brother Tom behind the wheel as we head to my first experience at Sam’s Club!
As we entered the first thing I saw was an optical department. I don’t think I want to get my eyes examined at a place that sells $1.50 hot dogs, but that’s just me!
We were greeted by Tabrila, who was super-friendly and has a very pretty smile!
Wow, it’s huge in here and kind of over-whelming. I don’t like these big-box stores, it’s a sensory overload!
Every department is huge and it’s so big in here it makes me nervous for some reason.
Tom’s favorite thing in here is the rotisserie chicken. You can get a whole chicken in here for about five dollars. I will say that the prices in here are pretty unbelievable.
I might even think about shopping here if you didn’t have to join their dumbass club.
Oh come on, a Halloween display in August? This reminds me of how Walgreen’s starts putting out Xmas displays in September!
It also makes me think about Charlie Brown’s rock.
I think it’s time for the hot dog of the week!
Here we are at the Cafe and check out the notice on the cash register, how did they know we were coming here?
That’s nice, but I’m still not joining their stupid club.
Christine was working behind the counter and she took my hot dog and drink order.
She was really nice and I have to say that everyone who works here is very friendly and welcoming.
But I’m still not joining their dumbass club!
You can get pizza by the slice in here, which is nice because that’s not an option at too many places in Peoria.
Here’s the hot dog all wrapped up with a side of chopped onions.
I added some mustard and plopped on the onions and this week’s hot dog is good to go.
Here’s $1.50 hot dog from Sam’s Club.
The Cafe was crowded but Tom managed to secure us a table and took the MBIP Camera to get a shot of me eating this week’s hot dog.
Okay, the hot dog was just okay and the bun was really stale. Yeah, it’s just a $1.50 for the hot dog and drink and this is a stellar lesson of you get what you pay for!
In closing, I’ll somewhat bastardize the infamous Groucho Marx quote: “I refuse to join any Sam’s Club that would have me as a member.”
Thanks to Tom for driving, hanging out with me and getting me into Sam’s Club!
