Live, from Peoria, Illinois it’s Saturday Night, we have a double dose of hosts tonight, The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill and The Jukebox Comedy Club with special guest headliner, Mary Lynn Rajskub!
Now please welcome the first host of the evening, The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill!
Here we are at the Fieldhouse Bar & Grill to start off our Saturday night evening.
This is close by the Jukebox Comedy Club, so let’s go in for a quickity-blickety Saturday night dinner before we go to the comedy show tonight.
I think I see a couple of familiar faces at a table in the dining room, this happens a lot…
It’s my friends, Amber and Joe who are joining me for dinner and they’re going to the Jukebox with me too!
They’re looking fabulous and it’s always a pleasure to hang out with the two of them!
Here’s our waiter for the evening, Ricky and he was a super-nice guy and excited to have his picture taken for the blog! I love it when people are enthusiastic like this!
Normally I’d take a bunch of pictures in here, but since we’re going to another destination, you can look at the pictures from this post from less than a year ago when we sampled pizza in here with Bob Gordon from Acme Comics.
Our Saturday night dinner arrived and it was nothing short of spectacular!
We split an order of Buffalo Wings and they were spicy, plump, juicy and so tasty!
Amber got the Corn Bread Grilled Cheese which is mozzarella, cheddar cheese with slices of savory pepperoni housed in a grilled corn bread sandwich. She said it was a delicious and unique sandwich.
Joe got the Koala Burger, which is a burger with white cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onion, wonton jalapenos and it’s deep fried and slathered with BBQ sauce. Joe said it was a tasty and a one of a kind burger. It’s a dish that’s dedicated to Eddie Hennessey, a friend of The Fieldhouse and someone who’s greatly missed in the Peoria area and beyond. R.I.P. Eddie!
I got the Nashville Chicken Rice Bowl and it was so tasty! I chose the breaded chicken and it was tossed in their Nashville hot sauce and it was so tangy and tasty. What a wonderul Saturday night meal!
I always love taking casual dining shots of Joe and Amber and it always cracks Amber up, I love the look on her face in the second photo.
The plates are empty and that can mean only one thing…ladies and gentlemen, time for the next host of this week’s Saturday night out on the town…please welcome, The Jukebox Comedy Club!
Here we are on Farmington Road at Peoria’s longest running comedy club, The Jukebox Comedy Club.
Tonight’s headliner is Mary Lynn Rajskub and I’m hoping to meet her and get a signed copy of her new book, FAME-ISH.
Mary Lynn is an accomplished comedian and actress and she’s got such a body of work out there, check it out on her IMDb page. I’ve been a fan since the Mr. Show With Bob and David and a lot of you know her from her role as Chloe on 24.
Let’s go in and start part two of this Saturday night adventure!
Gary was serving up drinks behind the bar and there’s another casual shot of Amber with her drink, that’s three in a row of casual shots, this may be a new record!
Here’s a poster of the star of the evening, Mary Lynn Rajskub! She’s one of the few actors out there that is also an established stand-up comedian and it’s cool that she’s here in Peoria.
She recently came out with a new book, FAME-ISH, which is a memoir of her unique life being someone who’s famous, but also not immediately recognizable. As I noted she has an extraordinary body of work, yet she’s not a household name. She has a different position of fame from most and I can’t wait to read the book and absorb her stories!
Check her out on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon talking about the book.
You can buy a signed copy by clicking here and I highly suggest you do, because if you don’t and I meet you, I’ll beat you over the head with a large spoon. Buy this book people or live with the fear of being beaten by me with a big spoon!
You’ve been properly warned!
There’s a good crowd in here, looks like she sold the joint out. I figured she would and bought my tickets early to insure a decent seat in the house.
I ran into Jeff Bailey, who’s one of the comedians opening the show and one of my favorite comics here at The Jukebox. Always a pleasure to see him!
And then I ran into the star of tonight’s show, Mary Lynn Rajksub! I was all nervous to meet her, but she was incredibly nice and she signed a copy of her book for me!
My evening was made and we still have a comedy show to see!
This is a wonderful Saturday night and thanks to Mary Lynn for taking the time to meet and talk with me, it was special and fun!
Okay, we’re inside of the theatre and there’s the Jukebox stage complete with the jukebox and a painting of legendary local comedian and actor, Richard Pryor.
Here’s another local legend, the owner of The Jukebox Comedy Club, Dan Conlin!
It was Dan’s birthday last week, so I brought him a gift bag and he opened it and we had some fun while he opened it on stage and looked at the presents.
Always great to see Dan and I thank him for bringing great comedy to Peoria for all of these years!
Dan lets me take photos during the shows, but I keep the flash off, so some of these are a little fuzzy and I apologize.
Here’s the stellar crew of opening comedians for tonight’s show, from the top: Heath Thornton, Jeff Bailey, Ryan Hallam, Lou Palomino, Edgar Sandoval and I didn’t get a shot of Regan Shute during her set, so I got a photo after the show.
They were all hilarious and made for a fun opening for the headliner…
Mary Lynn Rajskub!
Mary Lynn marched on to the stage and simply killed it!
She had a fabulous stand-up act and incorporated a lot of local Peoria humor which was cool because it was such fresh humor and she took the time to soak in the local atmosphere for jokes that could only be done here.
You have to respect that and she was so funny and the crowd loved her.
I’ve seen a lot of shows here at The Jukebox and this was one of the best one’s I’ve ever seen!
And here’s my signed copy of the book! I just started reading it and it’s a fabulous memoir with wonderful and entertaining stories!
It was so cool to meet Mary Lynn and thanks to Amber and Joe for being part of this Saturday night adventure! It was a ton of fun!
