Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Friendly Valley Tavern along with special musical guest stars, Kuh Nives!
Now, please welcome this week’s host, the newly-opened, Friendly Valley Tavern!
Okay, we visited here in the daytime last week, but this Saturday we came at night to experience the live music and a Saturday night dinner here at the newly-opened Friendly Valley Tavern!
As I was walking in I saw two familiar faces and it was Abby and Randon Gettys! I hadn’t seen these two in a while because they moved out of state a couple of years ago. They’re back in town for a couple of weeks and then they’re moving to Chicago.
It was great to see them and catch up on things!
Okay, let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday night adventure!
As you can see, there’s a decent crowd in here and I found a nice spot to settle in at the bar in here.
Ash was tending bar and served me up a drink with a beautiful smile! Things are off to a wonderful start on this Saturday evening!
Aiken Avenue…if you know, you know! What a classic Peoria signpost!
Down at the end of the bar is the Schmidt’s beer lamp hovering over the quartet of beers on tap.
Here’s a shot from the back of Peoria’s only Quonset hut bar!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like our Saturday night dinner is about to be served up!
They don’t have a full-service dining menu in here, but they do have Butch’s Pizza from Morton, Illinois and that makes for a fantastic Saturday night dinner!
Here’s Ash serving me up a Butch’s Pepperoni Pizza!
It was delicious and a perfect Saturday night treat!
After dinner I went outside and there’s a nice beer patio outside overlooking the concert area and volleyball court outside. Sean Kenny has turned this place into a beautiful outside and fun venue here in Peoria!
They have a bar out here so you don’t have to keep going back inside to get a new drink. Nice!
Here's the man himself, Sean Kenny!
Sean’s made the outside of Friendly Valley dog-friendly and to prove this point he’s got his very own dog, Cash with him!
Back at the beer patio, I ran into my friends, Brian and Michelle. Great to see both of them!
I also got a photo of Johnny and Kirk at the table. Johnny is a sound and lighting director here and at Kenny’s Westside Pub.
Speaking of lights, the sun has gone down and that can only mean one thing on a Saturday night…

Friendly Valley Comes Alive!
Wow, this is spectacular!
When the sun goes down, the light show starts at Friendly Valley Tavern with live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
This is unbelievable and you won’t see anything else like it on a weekend in Peoria, Illinois!
Sean has turned this place into Peoria’s version of a Woodstock music festival that happens every single weekend here in Peoria! You really need to stop by and check this out!
There’s a lit-up beer pavilion in the center of the grounds.
Check out the people lounging on their lawn chairs enjoying the light show and the live music of Kuh Nives!
What a fantastic and fun evening at the Friendly Valley Tavern!
Sean Kenny has turned this place into a new classic place for outdoor live music in Peoria, Illinois and I thank him for keeping the Friendly Valley Tavern alive and turning it into a new outdoor musical mecca in the midwest!
As the evening wore down, I got a shot of Michelle with Andrew and here’s a parting shot of Sean, Your’s Fooly and Michelle!
Great to hang out with them and thanks to all at the Friendly Valley Tavern for a fun and musical Saturday night!
Here’s a shot of the Friendly Valley Tavern after dark!
I’m so happy Sean Kenny is keeping this place alive and well! Stop by and show some support to this legendary tavern that has a whole new chapter taking place in Peoria!
