Welcome to a brand-spanking new Friday series here on MBIP! If you follow the blog, you know that I’m now operating out of a new MBIP World Headquarters, Mach IV.
The new headquarters is the biggest space we’ve ever had and it’s got a huge balcony outside! So I thought I’d get an electric grill and start grilling something every Friday. I’ve never really grilled much, so this will be a fun learning experience.
Okay, it’s time…let’s cook!
Here we are in the MBIP World Headquarters, Mach IV Kitchen.
I’ve got a cabinet dedicated to this grilling series and it’s filled up with all kinds of condiments, sauces and seasonings that can be used in these forthcoming grilling adventures.
Let’s pick out the sauces and seasonings for this weeks char-broiled episode!
We’re going to be grilling chicken wings and I want to make a marinade for the wings to soak in.
I’m going to be using (from the left): Honey, chili pepper, black pepper, Syberg’s Sweet Heat sauce, Skippy Peanut Butter, St. Louis Sweet BBQ Sauce, kosher salt, Amber and Joe’s Hot Sauce, brown sugar, Cholula hot sauce and ground mustard powder.
I combined all the ingredients in this pan for this marinade except one…
The Skippy Peanut Butter.
I wanted to add that last and I added a bout a half of the jar. It took about five minutes of stirring to get it mixed in properly to the marinade.
Now we add the chicken wings, cover with foil and we’ll let these sit in the refrigerator for about three hours.
If you want to do this in real time, you can sit through this three hour video or…
You can just scroll on down to this photo.
After three hours I put the marinated wings in a 400 degree oven to pre-bake before we put them on the grill.
Here we are out on the balcony and there’s the star of the show, the MBIP Grill!
I’m going to pre-heat it to 400 degrees and while that’s heating up…
We’ll take the wings out of the oven. They were in there for about fifteen minutes and they look a little over halfway baked. Kind of like how I spent the ‘70’s!
Okay, let’s finish these off on the grill!
Here we are back at the grill and the wings are on the prep table.
The grill is pre-heated so it’s time to let the grilling begin! This is exciting!
I sprayed the racks with Pam Butter Spray and then put the wings on the top rack and shut the lid.
We’ll let these cook for about ten minutes and while they cook…
We’ll make a glaze to drizzle over the wings after they’re done.
We’re using generous amounts of honey, peanut butter, Amber and Joe’s Hot Sauce and the Cholula Hot Sauce.
I stirred them all together and then it’s into the oven it goes.
Meanwhile, back at the grill the wings are looking fantastic! Now we’ll put them on the rack closest to the heat to get a good final sear on them.
I flipped them several times and I think we’re ready to plate these wings and try them out!
They look and smell absolutely fabulous!
I’m sure they’d be wonderful like this, but we need to take it to a higher level here on this Please Grill Me debut segment!
So we’ll take the honey/hot sauce/peanut butter glaze out of the oven and drizzle it over the grilled chicken wings.
They look so tasty and delicious and they smell even better, so let’s dig in!
Oh my god! I’ve cooked a lot of food on this blog, but these wings are the best things I’ve ever created, if I do say so myself and I just did, so there!
There is so much flavor in these wings it’s amazing!
You have sweet that turns to heat and then the honey kicks in and the peanut butter which blends so well with the bbq sauces! What a fabulous taste treat these wings are!
I’m so glad the first edition of this series was such a success!
We’ll see you next Friday for another edition of Please Grill Me!
