It’s been a while since we’ve gone out to lunch here on the blog, so we’re correcting that situation by having lunch at Peoria’s only English-themed pub, The Fox Pub.
Let’s go eat, drink and be English!
Here we are at the Fox Pub just off of Pioneer Park and as you can see, there’s lots of outdoor seating here in the parking lot and on their patio, but I think we’ll dine in today, so let’s go inside and start this luncheon adventure!
They have an English-styled breakfast here every Saturday from 9am to 11am and you can see and read about that by clicking right here.
Okay, let’s go through the second door and into the Fox Pub!
Casea was at the host station and greeted us with a friendly and beautiful smile.
She guided us to our table in their fabulous dining room.
Shortly after I sat down, I was greeted by the owner and operator of The Fox Pub, Matt Rixner. Matt said business has been great and that’s good to hear.
You can hear Matt on the radio every Friday on WWCT’s Kegs And Eggs. Maybe he’ll mention us this week!
And now, here’s this week’s luncheon guest of honor, my friend, Mary Jo Ghighi!
Mary Jo and I have been friends since the sixth grade and it’s always great to see her and catch up! She’s looking great as always!
Her husband Mort was going to join us, but he was juggling turkeys and a feather got lodged in his throat, so MaryJo took him to the E.R. and then met me for lunch.
We started off with an order of the Queso dip and chips and it was simply delicious.
The chips are homemade and crispy and the Queso is a creamy and rich taste treat! A wonderful start to lunch!
The bar is located in the front of the restaurant and there’s the lit-up sign featuring all of the beers available this week.
And here’s the multitudes of beers on tap at the Fox Pub! It’s a plentiful selection for sure!
The Fox Pub is Peoria’s only English-themed pub and I love all of the English signs and artifacts in here.
Here’s a corner table in front of the fireplace in the back of the dining room. On top of the fireplace is a nice collection of English photos and knick-knacks.
There’s a back dining room with lots more seating in it.
On my way back to my table I ran into my friend, Bryan Harlan, so of course we had to pose for a double point photo!
Bryan’s a chef here now and it was great to see him and catch up on things!
And now, it’s that magical time…it’s time for…
This week’s Lunch At First Bite!
Mary Jo got the Fox Wrap which is deep chicken tenders, lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomato and Pub dressing. She said it was delicious!
I got the Charbroiled Chicken Salad with Balsamic Vinegar dressing and it was a fabulous salad. The chicken was plump, tender and so tasty!
It was a wonderful lunch at the Fox Pub!
Thanks to Mary Jo for joining me for lunch, always a treat to see her and catch up on things and thanks to everyone at the Fox Pub for a wonderful lunch and afternoon at Peoria’s only English-themed pub.
We ate…we drank…and we were English for an afternoon!
