Okay, this week we’re hitting a legendary Peoria pizza parlor, Leonardo’s Pizza.
It’s been in business since 1975 and I remember coming here in altered states in the ‘70’s and loving the pizza and the atmosphere in here.
So, let’s go and have some pizza at this classic Peoria pizza parlor!
Here we are at Leonardo’s Pizza on War Memorial Drive right across from Alwan & Son’s on War Memorial Drive.
Let’s go inside and begin this week’s saucy journey!
I stepped up to the front counter and there’s Wiley to take my order. I’ve taken Wiley’s photo on past visits here and it was great to see him again.
Everyone here is always super-friendly.
I asked if I could take some photos in here and Wiley told me to go right ahead, so here we go with photos of Leonardo’s Pizza!!
I love this artwork which is located in the front waiting area.
There’s slot machines located in a discreet room at the front of the building for all of you gambler’s out there!
My favorite thing in here is the lit-up tree in the center of the dining room. This has been here since it opened in 1975 and I always love to see it!
Here’s the dining area complete with comfortable leather booths and Italian-styled art on the walls.
And the plastic grapes up on the ceiling are another fun thing in here to look at!
I went and took a seat at a booth in here and as I did a cup was delivered to my booth.
This was an appetizer order of five meatballs.
They were savory, tasty and delicious! The sauce was tasty and the meatballs had a nice spicy flavor to them!
This was a delicious start to our pizza dinner in Leonardo’s!
And here’s the star of the show for the evening, a lovely cheese pizza from Leonardo’s!
I took two slices off to a plate to let them cool off. I like my pizza at room temperature.
While that cools off, let’s watch a video of dogs making pizza!
Wow, that’s some ruff stuff!
Okay, back to today’s post, already in progress!
Once it was cooled down, it was delicious pizza.
The crust was nice and thin and crispy and the cheese and sauce was so tasty!
This is classic Peoria pizza and if you’ve never had it, you definitely need to give it a try!
