Okay, we’re back with our first Little Golden Lunch from our second box of goodies from the good folks at Goldbelly!
This is a Goldbelly box from one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan: Keens Steakhouse. I love Keens Steakhouse, but the funny thing is, I’ve never had a steak there. I would always eat in the pub and get the Prime Rib Hash, as you can see in this post featuring Keens Steakhouse on my 365 Bars blog.
Well all that changes today as we cook and sample a filet mignon from Keens Steakhouse!
As you can see, we have quite a few meals coming up from this Goldbelly Keens Steakhouse box!
I’m also going to be featuring them on my Midwest Slice Of Life YouTube channel, so stay tuned for that!
Here’s the filet mignon all wrapped up with the Keens label on it.
And this is the ingredients for today’s Little Golden Lunch, clockwise from the top left: Shredded cheddar cheese, the defrosted Keen’s filet, Vermont Cultured Butter, New York Style Cheesecake and a potato.
We’ll start off with the potato.
I baked a potato and then sliced it in half and mashed the potato up and added some butter chunks. I then topped that off with the shredded cheese and put it back into the oven.
Now on to the filet mignon!
They included recipe cards for each meal in this box, nice!
It said to salt the filet and then sear each side in a pan with hot olive oil.
Then you put the pan into a pre-heated 400 degree oven for six minutes. I added a pat of butter on top for extra richness!
The box included a bottle of Keens signature No. 16 steak sauce.
And speaking of sauce, let’s open up a pre-Golden lunch bottle of Bud Light! Cheers!
Okay, it’s six minutes later and we’ll take the steak out of the oven.
It looks and smells heavenly! The directions say to let it rest for four minutes.
Rest in peace, my meaty friend!
Okay, four minutes later and this Little Golden Lunch is all plated up, the filet has been sauced with the Keens signature steak sauce and ready to be enjoyed!
The Keens filet mignon almost looks like a piece of chocolate cake!
I dove into the cheesy baked potatoes first and they were delicious!
The potatoes were buttery, rich and very tasty!
Now on to the star of today’s Little Golden Lunch, the Keens Steakhouse filet mignon!
Oh my god! This was so tasty and delicious!
It was rare, and it simply melted in my mouth! This is truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my life! It was so tender, savory and tasty and the steak sauce was the perfect compliment to it!
And the cheesecake was a sweet treat that added up to a very happy ending to this tasty and enjoyable lunch!
Thanks to Goldbelly and Keens Steakhouse for this wonderful Little Golden Lunch! We’ll be back next week with another treat from Keens Steakhouse!
