We’re continuing our Peoria pizza tour of eating every single pizza in town and this week we’re going to go to Knuckles Pizza. This is a little bit of a cheat because it’s actually located in Dunlap, but it’s close enough to Peoria so we’re including it in this tour. I make the rules, so I can do whatever I want!
Off we go to Knuckles Pizza!
Here we are at Knuckles Pizza, it’s located right next door to the Wheels O’ Time Museum.
They have a nice outdoor patio, but we decided to eat inside. I say we, because we have a special guest star tonight who will be revealed after I get all my other photos done for this post.
Here’s the main dining room and the bar. Maya is the friendly bartender serving up drinks tonight.
I love the album cover art and framed guitars on the walls in the dining room. It’s a cool atmosphere in here.
There’s a gaming room in the corner, lit up baseball bats and the wooden ceiling gives the room a nice rustic feel to it.
Here’s the front dining room and down this hallway is…
The kitchen! These guys are working hard to get our food order all done.
And speaking of food…
Here’s the start of our dinner served up by Fernanda and Ellie.
I love the tattoo on Ellie’s arm and she told us that she just got it. It’s her first tattoo and she said she’ll probably get more.
And now, it’s time to reveal this week’s special pizza guest star…
Jennifer O’Day!
Jennifer and I met on Twitter and we were going to meet up and have a few beers over a year ago and then the pandemic hit and we had to put it off until tonight!
Jennifer’s a writer and you can check out her website and blog here and if you’re on Twitter you can follow her here.
It was great to meet her and we had a fun evening of trading tales about writing, Peoria and pizza pie!
We started off our pizza dinner with chicken wings and the Potato Rounds.
The chicken wings were good, but both Jennifer and I agreed the star of the appetizer order were the Potato Rounds.
The potatoes are seasoned and fried and covered in crispy bacon. The cheese sauce was rich and creamy and complimented them perfectly. This was a tasty delight!
And now for this week’s pizza pie! I’ve had Knuckles Pizza in the past, so I knew it would be a tasty delight!
We got half cheese for me and Jennifer ordered the Field Pizza for her half. The Field Pizza is topped with assorted vegetables.
I love Knuckles pizza and this pie did not disappoint!
It’s Quad Cities style pizza with a thick and crispy crust and delicious flavor. It’s really a unique pizza experience and if you haven’t tried it, you should definitely check it out!
And now for the official weekly pizza rating…
——
The Rating System
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).
——
MBIP SCORE
——
I’m giving this pizza an 8.2 rating.
It’s a unique and delicious pizza pie and it’s worth checking out. And try the Potato Rounds when you do, you won’t be sorry!
Thanks to Jennifer for joining me and I look forward to hanging out with her in the future!
