Back in May we had a guest post here on MBIP by the authors of “Punks In Peoria: Making A Scene In The American Heartland” before that book was released.
Well it’s officially released and there was a celebration at lit. on fire used books to kick off the release of this Peoria publication! And of course MBIP stopped by and below are photos from this book release and signing party!
Here we are at lit. on fire used books on Main Street. This place is awesome and if you don’t believe me, must look at the sign.
Okay, let’s go in and see what’s happening!
There’s a nice crowd in here and let’s take a look around the store. As you can see there’s a large inventory of books to peruse and some of these titles you can’t find online!
lit. on fire was recently featured in a list of cool indie bookstores on the Oprah Daily website. Check that out by clicking here.
This section brings a Randy Newman flashback.
Here’s a shot from the back of the shop.
And there’s even more books in the back room here!
Behold! The obligatory first dollar!
There’s Jessica, the owner of lit. on fire and the host of tonight’s party! Thanks for putting this together, Jessica!
Here’s some shots of the people in attendance and I apologize for some of the fuzzy photos. The MBIP Camera wasn’t working that well that night.
Sometimes I hate the MBIP Camera. Hate HATE hate it!
There was a whole table of drinks and treats to enjoy!
Here I am waiting line to get my book signed by co-author Jonathan Wright! In addition to being the co-author of Punks In Peoria, along with Dawson Barrett, Johnathan is also the Editor-In-Chief of Peoria Magazine and he DJ’s under the name of juanGoblin.
There he is with my freshly autographed copy!
Another book you can purchase in lit. on fire used books is The Boy Who Would Be A Fire Truck by Yours Fooly!
I was a guest today on Good Day Central Illinois talking about the book and this post and you can watch that segment by clicking right here!
Now go and get over to lit. on fire and buy Punks In Peoria and other fine books in their inventory. Shop local and shop often!
