Okay, we’re starting our third week of eating all of the pizza in Peoria,
This week I decided to go to a take-out pizza joint I have never gone to, Scroll on down enjoy this pizza outing.
This week I decided to try the pizza at Fat Jack’s in the Tanglewood Shopping Plaza on University Street. I’ve driven by this place a lot, but I’ve never stopped in to try their Quad City-style pizza.
Time to correct that and stop in and get a pizza to go at Fat Jack’s.
Here we are inside of Fat Jack’s and there’s the owner of the place, Mark Mannen. Mark grew up in the Quad Cities and has worked in pizza parlors his whole life. You can read more about him in the links suppled below.
He told me our pizza is just about ready and I could take some photos in here while it’s finishing up cooking.
So let’s go snap some photos with the ever-present MBIP Camera!
There’s the menu on the wall and they’ve got some new menu additions displayed on the counter.
In addition to pizza, Fat Jack’s also has an Italian Beef sandwich and sweet dessert deep fried dough bites on the menu in addition to other tasty items.
There’s the aformentioned publicity on the walls from Pizza Magazine and the Bradley Scout and you can read all about the origins of Mark and Fat Jack’s Pizza by clicking on those links.
There’s Mark ringing up our order and presenting it to us.
Time to take it back to MBIP World Headquarters Dining Room and…
Open up an ice-cold can of Budweiser before we sample this pizza pie dinner! Cheers!
Mark told me that they’ve discontinued chicken wings for now because of a nation-wide chicken wing shortage, so I got an order of the boneless chicken wings.
Usually I’m not a boneless chicken wing guy, but these look fabulous!
Wow, these are really tasty!
They’re breaded chicken wing bites and they’re spicy, juicy and really tasty! We’re off to a delicious start to this pizza pie meal!
Now on to the star of tonight’s meal, a lovely cheese pizza from Fat Jack’s Pizza!
It looks fantastic! Very cheesy and the crust looks incredible!
This is a Quad City-style pizza and it’s got a thin crust but the outer crust is large and very crispy, The underside of the crust has a nice char to it.
This looks like an amazing pizza pie!
Wow, this is a fabulous pizza pie! Very tasty and it has a nice flavor and texture.
The sauce has a nice zingy flavor, the cheese is fresh, rich and creamy and the crust is really crispy.
This is a really tasty and unique pizza!

THIS WEEK’S RATING

The Rating System
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).
——
I’m giving this pizza an 8.7 which is an extremely high rating but this pizza deserves it. Go and try Fat Jack’s as soon as you can, you won’t be sorry!
