The Peoria Riverfront Museum just opened a brand new exhibit and this one is a doozy, it’s called T. Rex: The Ultimate Predator.
This exhibit was made and put together at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The exhibit is going to be going on an international tour and it’s starting right here in Peoria!
A lot of us only know T. Rex from their only hit song, “Bang A Gong (Get It On)” but as you’ll see from my visit to the Peoria Riverfront Museum, T. Rex is so much more than a top ten hit single.
Let’s go and check it out!
Here we are at the Peoria Riverfront Museum…hey check out the sign, how did they know we were coming?
Okay, up the stairs and let’s go inside and see what’s happening!
Here we are in the lobby and look at the space suit on display in here. It’s Neil Armstrong’s suit from when he walked on the moon! Very cool! There’s a lot of other things to see in here, but we’ve come to check out the newest exhibit…
T. Rex: The Ultimate Predator!
As I said in the introduction, this is the first stop for this exhibit which is going to be shown internationally. How cool that it debuts in Peoria!
As you can see, there’s a nice crowd here today to check it out, great to see Peoria supporting the Riverfront Museum.
I went up to the ticket counter and met Emma and Sophia who sold me a ticket and pointed me to the T. Rex exhibition.
And here we are, I love the opening sign!
When you enter you see an ominous shadow…
It comes from this opening display which shows how fast the T. Rex can grow.
Wow, there’s so many interesting items on display in this exhibit!
Check this guy out!
There’s lots of informative signs, displays and art in this prehistoric exhibition.
That top dinosaur has a little bit of a buck tooth thing going on. There were no Orthodontists back in those days so you just had to grin and bear it.
The bottom photo features the stars of the prehistoric situation comedy, “My Three Skulls.” Do doo doo doo, do doo doo doo…
A lot of the displays are interactive which adds to the fun.
There’s even more in this room over here…
That’s a big T. Rex and he looks hungry, I stayed an arm’s-length away from this guy!
I love that they pay tribute to the modern T. Rex along with the pre-historic dinosaur.
They have a great gift shop in here! I love the fact that they stock gifts that match up with the current exhibit on display. Check out all the dinosaur related items!
I got something and here’s Emma behind the register with it all bagged up. What did I get?
My own T. Rex magnet to go along with a previous Peoria Riverfront magnet that’s designed by Chelsie Tamms of Lettering Works!
This is a cool exhibit and you should go and check it out! Support the Peoria Riverfront Museum, they are a cool part of Peoria and add to the magic of this town!
