Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Hacienda El Mirador and featuring special guests, Julia and Nick!
Now, please welcome this week’s host, Hacienda El Mirador!
Here we are at Hacienda El Mirador in Junction City.
This is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants and I’m anxious to dine inside of here once again!
There’s outside seating on the front patio and on the side of the building, but I prefer to eat inside, so let’s go in and see what’s happening!
There’s the main dining room, but I’m dining alone tonight, so I think I’ll grab a seat at the bar.
There’s Julia, the pretty owner of Hacienda El Mirador serving up a drink with a beautiful smile. She said it was a rough year, but business is picking up now that everything has opened up again.
Remember to eat and shop local, our local businesses need our support now more than ever!
They have a nice variety of hot sauces on display at the bar and there’s some of the bottled beers…wait a second…what’s that on the end…
Oh, wait a second, I’m fully vaccinated so I should be safe! Never mind!
I started out with some complimentary chips and homemade salsa. They were delicious and a nice start to the evening!
Julia took my dinner order and now let’s take a look around while that’s being prepared.
A chandelier hangs overhead and there’s the back of the bar with a bottle of David Reyes Tequila proudly on display.
David and I worked together at Fleming Potter years ago and he has since moved to Mexico and started his own successful Tequila business. Here’s a link to his website.
He came back to Peoria a couple years ago and we had a tequila-infused reunion. Click here and check out that fun evening!
There’s tables opposite the bar and I love the neon signs in here.
You can write on the walls in here and check out my greeting at the bottom!
Here’s the back dining room and there’s a private party going on back here.
It reminds me of this night back in 2017!
I love the Mexican art on the walls in here, it really adds to the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like it’s about time for this week’s Saturday night dinner!
I started off with an order of Chori Queso which is melted Chihuahua Cheese with chopped Chorizo and tomatoes.
This is so tasty, the Chihuahua Cheese is rich and creamy and it blends well with the savory and spicy Chorizo sausage.
Here’s Nick, the Executive Chef at Hacienda El Mirador delivering the main course for tonight’s meal.
This looks unbelievable!
I got the Jalisco Asada Plate, which is grilled skirt steak served on a bed of Chihuahua Cheese and Rancho Sauce. It’s served on a sizzling pan.
The dinner comes with rice and beans and I wisely ignored the beans. The rice was fluffy and flavorful!
Now on to the star of tonight’s dinner: The Mexican-styled skirt steak.
I squeezed the lime over it and this is one tender and delicious steak! It’s savory and spicy and the melted Chihuahua Cheese is the icing on the steak!
What a wonderful meal!
Thanks to Julia, Nick and everyone at Hacienda El Mirador for a wonderful dining experience.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, so there’s no excuse to not stop by and enjoy a meal here!
