The MBIP blog was just about two months old when I posted this Saturday night blog from Ulrich’s Rebellion Room. This was the first time I had been in Ulrich’s and it was fun discovering this place and many others in the first year of MBIP.
Okay, time to turn the calendars back to 2013…oh Sherman…
Please set the Wayback Machine for February 18, 2013 and…
Whoomp, here we are at Ulrich’s Rebellion Room on Main Street. I love the signage here! Let’s go in and check out this Irish-themed tavern.
There’s a nice, highly polished bar and a few seats are available at the end. I snagged a seat and settled in for the evening.
Neil was the friendly bartender on duty that evening and he delivered an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser. We’re off to a fabulous start tonight!
Comfortable wooden booths with leather padding line the walls opposite the bar.
This table looks out at the traffic cruising by on Main Street.
Every decent Irish bar has a portrait of JFK, you just have to look for it and here it is!
And yes, I just shot JFK!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, the condiments have arrived. Looks like it’s just about time for…
Our Saturday Night Cheeseburger!
Wow, this is one impressive looking cheeseburger!
It’s the Hickory Burger and it comes topped off with onion rings, thick smokey bacon and their homemade BBQ sauce.
It’s so big it was hard to get a one-handed shot holding this massive cheeseburger!
The Hickory burger has melted cheddar cheese, home cut strips of thick, sugary-cured house-cooked bacon, savory beef, two giant onion rings and special hickory sauce drizzled down this mountain of a burger.
And it’s housed in a bakery fresh bun which takes it over the top for me. What a delicious cheeseburger!
