Way back in 2014, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza was located in Junction City. It has since moved down the road to a spot off of Prospect Avenue in Heritage Square.
I’ve got links and photos of both places and while the location has changed, the pizza remains the same and that’s the point of these pizza posts!
So let’s go back to the original location of Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza…
Oh Sherman, can you help us out here?
Sherman, please set the Pizza Wayback Machine to November 11, 2014 and…
Whoomp, here we are at Junction City where Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza first started out.
There’s the inside dining room and as I ventured in, I met Knute who owns Brienzo’s. He not only posed for a picture, he said he’d personally make the pizza for this post!
That’s the wood burning oven that cooks up all of the pizzas in here.
As Paris Hilton would say, “That’s hot!”
There’s the dining area, let’s find a table to sit at.
This is the table I chose and there’s my beer and the condiments for the forth-coming pizza pie!
And here’s Knute delivering that aforementioned pizza pie. It looks delicious!
I got bacon, cheddar, onion and mozzarella for toppings on the pizza pie and it looks and smells great!
The pizza was fantastic and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious and the sauce was tangy and tasty.
I really like the crust here too, it's light and flaky and has a biscuit-like quality that's really unique to any other pizza in Peoria.
On the way out, Knute showed me their signature Margherita pizza fresh out of the oven. That looks like one tasty pizza pie!
As I mentioned, Brienzo’s has moved down the road to a spot in Heritage Square off of Prospect Road in Peoria Heights.
Here’s a few photos of the new place and you can see more photos and check out a Saturday night meal I had back in 2019 by clicking here.
