Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out starring this week’s host, Emo’s and featuring special guest star, Lavina and presenting the First Annual David Wombacher Coney Dog!
Now please welcome, this week’s host, Emo’s!
———
So last week after putting up a picture of the somewhat creepy Emo’s clown on my facecrack page, I got this comment from my cousin, David Wombacher.
And so today I’m going to make good on my promise of honoring David Wombacher with the first coney dog of the year from Emo’s!
Here we are at Emo’s and there’s a decent crowd assembled in front of this legendary ice cream and hot dog emporium.
There’s the iconic Emo’s clown that is perched on top of the building.
Some think he’s cute others subscribe to the notion that he’s somewhat creepy. I fall into the latter category!
I have nightmares about creepy clowns!
The lines here aren’t too bad and everyone is keeping a social distance along with wearing a mask.
Hopefully this kind of behavior and the vaccines will slow down this stupid virus.
And we’re up!
Lavina took our order and then like magic…
Baboom, we’re back at the MBIP World Headquarters and Kitchen Tasting Area.
Before we take the dinner out of the bag, let’s open up a giganzo can of Bud Light.
Cheers!
They were so busy, they ran out of French Fries so I got a bag of Lay’s Potato Chops.
Yes, dinner tonight is all that and a bag of chips.
Next up is a chili-cheese tamale. This was so delicious!
The chili-cheese was savory and had a little bit of zing for good measure!
I utilized some of the chips to scoop up the left over chili cheese mixture which acted like a tangy dip.
I’m nothing if not resourceful!
Ladies and gentleman…it' is now time for an incredible moment here on MBIP.
It’s time for…
The First Annual David Wombacher Emo’s Coney Dog!
What an incredible moment and this truly marks the spring of 2021 and the start of a better year than the foul year we had last year.
There’s the smiling face of my cousin, David and the very first Coney Dog from Emo’s of 2021!
Hooray!
P.S. A fun note here is that David’s sister, Amy worked at Emo’s for 27 years and they finally told her she had to quit and move on with her life. Which I’m happy to report she did! Amy’s currently living a responsible and wonderful life in Minnesota. Hello Amy!
Wow, this looks like one tasty Coney Dog. (For the record, it’s actually a chili cheese dog, but David called it a Coney Dog, so that’s what we’re going with.)
This is one delicious Coney Dog. The cheese and chili have a zippy flavor, the hot dog is delicious and the bun is steamed and bakery fresh.
Hey, wait a second, something’s happening to this Coney Dog…
Aaaahhh!
Okay David, next year you have to come back to Peoria to join me for this event! Maybe other Wombachers can join us and we can have a family reunion!
