Okay, this week we mark two months of making grilled cheeses. People have asked how many I plan on making and it just depends on when I feel safe dining in at a restaurant again. I have a great idea for the next food tour, but I’m in a high-risk group, so I won’t feel comfortable dining in at a restaurant until after I get the vaccine.
And so we’ll continue to grill the cheese here at MBIP and this week we’re doing a grilled chicken wing cheese.
This week’s ingredients include: Chicken wings, Edy’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream, Papa Pita Bread, Syberg’s Wing Sauce, Buffalo Wing Hot Sauce Cheddar Cheese and Snyder’s Buffalo Wing Pretzel Bits.
We’ll start off by warming up the chicken wings in the microwave oven.
This cheese looks amazing! It’s Yancy’s Buffalo Wing Hot Sauce Cheddar and yes, I’m cutting the cheese right now! Oh, it’s also fancy!
It tried a slice and it is so delicious. This cheese is also super-soft, so it should melt quickly.
I took the meat off of the chicken wings and added a healthy dash of the Syberg Wing Sauce, some Cholula Hot Sauce, a nice dash of the Amber and Joe homemade hot sauce and some black pepper.
We’ll stir all of that together and now it is sandwich time!
Check out this pita bread, it’s Papa Pita Greek Pita bread.
Is it me or does Papa Pita look kind of like David Letterman?
And of course this has to lead to this rhyme: “Papa Pita, Mama Mia, baby’s got…diarrhea!”
Fun is fun!
I was originally going to split one slice of the Pita Bread for the sandwich, but I just decided to use two slices instead.
This is real improvisational cooking folks! We’re flying by the seat of our pants and I love it!
And there’s a good chance I’m not even wearing pants, so that makes it all the more exciting!
I dipped the bread into a pan of melted butter and then transferred over to the cast iron skillet.
I browned both slices and the color is looking good!
The skillet is red-hot and now we have to move fast so it doesn’t burn. I added the cheese, the sauced up chicken wing meat and after turning it several times, we have this week’s grilled cheese sandwich!
We’ll let it cool for a little bit while we make this week’s side dish.
I put some more butter in the pan, added the Snyder’s Buffalo Wing Pretzels, stirred them around and I think we’re ready to enjoy this week’s grilled cheese meal!
This sandwich looks and smells unbelievable!
Let’s dig in to this week’s grilled cheese feast!
I’ve had the Snyder’s Buffalo Wing Pretzels out of the bag, but warmed up and cooked in butter took these things to a level of deliciousness that’s impossible to describe, so I won’t. But they are a tasty treat!
Now, on to the main course!
Extreme close up!
Holy screaming shitballs, this is one super-delicious grilled cheese sandwich!
The pita bread is crispy on the outside and it’s like a fluffy pancake on the inside! The cheese is sharp and spicy and so is the chicken wing meat.
Grilled perfection!
For dessert I got a cup of Edy’s Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream. A sweet ending to a wonderful grilled cheese meal!
Eat on the dotted grilled cheese, please!
