Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out starring this week’s host, The Spotted Cow and featuring special guest stars, Elizabeth and Lauren.
Now please put your hands together for this week’s Saturday Night host, The Spotted Cow!
I love the lit-up sign and look, how did they know we were coming here?
Very cool and an impressive moove!
There’s the Spotted Cow in all its glory. This is an impressive local place that has been in business for over two decades and was founded by Frank Abdnour. It’s now owned by Shane Fisher, who is a Peoria native.
You can read all about the transfer of Spotted Cow power here and Shane wisely has kept the place exactly as Frank founded it.
Whoops-a-doozy, that little cow is in a dangerous spot here in the foyer!
There’s the front counter…
And there’s Elizabeth and Lauren who took my order and quickly went to work on putting it together.
They’re both really friendly and cute as can be. Shane, give these two women a raise immediately!
There’s a front dining room with booths and tables and another dining area opposite that one. And indoor dining is back here and they’re open for lunch and dinner, so stop by and support this local business.
After last year you should shop local like never before!
This is just a small amount of the local press clippings The Spotted Cow has amassed through the years!
Back when Joe Biden was Vice President he came to the Spotted Cow for a visit. You can read all about his 2010 visit to Peoria here.
Lauren didn’t know my order was to-go and she made up this special Turtle Milk Shake for me. I took a picture before she had to shmoosh it all down for the take-out order.
Note her hand-modeling skills, very impressive!
Okay, the order is ready, time to moove it on over to the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
Here we are back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. We’re starting off the meal with a sweet treat, the Turtle Milkshake.
I got mine with their homemade cinnamon ice cream and it’s made with caramel, chocolate, pecans and topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
It’s such a sweet treat and a lovely way to start off this Saturday night dinner!
Now we’re on to the main course, Tater Tots and a chili-cheese dog.
I made an impromptu dipping sauce for the Tater Tots by pouring some Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce into a bowl and dipped a couple Tots into it. Very delicious!
I had been having cravings all day for a chili-cheese dog and this certainly hit the spot.
The hot dog was beefy and topped with shredded cheese and their in-house coney island sauce that is tangy, tasty and out of this world good! And the bun was steamed and bakery-fresh!
A delightful and delicious chili-cheese dog! My craving was definitely taken care of by this wonderful and savory chili-cheese dog!
For dessert I got a chocolate cookie sundae and it was unbelievable!
The ice cream is made on the premises and this is a decadent delicacy that you need to sample sometime in your life! What a sweet and tasty treat!
The after dinner drink was a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
