Okay, so I’ve kind of gotten backed up here and the post I was going to do today won’t happen until next Thursday, so here’s a little sneaky peek at what this post is all about.
It’s going to be the weekly Shopping Locally post where I highlight a local business and the local business i chose for this week is my favorite record store in the world, Younger Than Yesterday!
I’m not only going to highlight the store with some photos, but there’s also going to be a spotlight shining on a brand new live CD that’s for sale at the store.
Pictured below is that aforementioned CD.
This is a live album from 1993 by a band that Craig Moore, the owner of Younger Than Yesterday put together back then. The band’s name was Disraeli Gears and they were a tribute band honoring the legendary rock/blues trio, Cream.
I’ll write more about this CD next week, but if you’re a Cream fan or just a fan of live rock ‘n roll, this CD is something that you must purchase! It’s one of the best live performances I’ve ever heard.
The musicians in this power trio are: Craig Moore, bass and vocals, Mike Isenberg, guitar and vocals and Dennis Tieken, drums and vocals.
I was curious when I read about this CD and when I got it and played it, it genuinely blew my mind! You can read all about it next week, but for now, I suggest you go to Younger Than Yesterday and buy this CD. It’s just five bucks!
Let me capitalize that so you totally understand this: IT’S JUST FIVE BUCKS!
That’s an insane price for a CD of this caliber! It’s almost like you lose money if you don’t buy it!
Okay, tune in next Thursday for the whole post on Younger Than Yesterday and this wonderful live tribute to Cream CD! And let me repeat: YOU CAN BUY IT AT YOUNGER THAN YESTERDAY FOR JUST FIVE BUCKS! FIVE STINKING DOLLARS!
Oh, also Craig, Mike Isenberg and some others involved in the making and production of the CD will be discussing it on the radio tomorrow on KOKX Keokuk from 10am to noon and you can listen live by clicking right here.
