I’ve decided to switch from the occasional Thursday Frozen Pizza Review to just reviewing different kinds of frozen food dinners.
I’m already doing the Slices of Peoria where I”m eating pizza at a different place each week, plus we have our pizza YouTube series coming up in about a month, so I thought we’d switch it up here and go with a non-pizza frozen food topic for a while.
So let’s head on over to the frozen food aisle for this week’s frozen food dinner!
Here we are in the chilly frozen food aisle at Schuck’s Grocery store. Time to pick out this week’s frozen food dinner.
Clockwise from the bottom left we have a Night Hawk Top Chop’t Classic dinner with cheesy potatoes, Green Giant Lightly Sauced Corn and Fat Bombs.
We’ll address the Fat Bombs first!
This is our frozen dessert entree and I was intrigued by the hame “Fat Bombs.” It’s a strange name and one that would drive away a lot of the calorie-challenged audience out there.
I should include myself in that group, but fuck it, I’ve decided to try out the Fat Bombs and the instructions say we need to let them thaw out for about an hour, so it’s off to the corner they go while we prepare tonight’s frozen food dinner.
The main course frozen dinner didn’t come with a vegetable, so I got a pack of this Green Giant Lightly Sauced Corn Packet. It doesn’t say what it’s exactly sauced with and that bothers me somewhat.
But in spite of that, we’ll put it in the microwave and cook it up. Sometimes you need to have frozen bravery and just keep plowing ahead.
This is one of those times. And so here we go.
Check out my specialty BBQ napkins that I bought at the store.
Pretty fancy huh?
I spare no expense here folks…just like Bill Orielly…fuck it, we’ll do it live! I know this makes little sense, but what are you going to do? I just wanted to highlight that video clip. And on we go with this frozen food adventure!
Alrighty, here’s the main course item of the week. It’s Night Hawk Top’t Chopped Classic dinner with cheesy bacon mashed potatoes.
I hate the way they spelled the word, “Top’t.” Would it have fucking killed you to add a couple of fucking consonants and a vowel and just spelled it “Topped?” Fuck!
Aaahhhh!
Okay, on with this frozen meal.
While that’s cooking we’ll season the Green Giant corn with some black pepper, mustard powder and a few shots of this Asian Zing seasoning I just bought.
Corn always needs a little zing from extra seasoning and I think this was a nice mixture to add to tonight’s vegetable entree.
Here’s this week’s bird’s-eye-view of our frozen food meal.
Presenting: The Night Hawk Top’t Chopped Classic dinner with corn and a fun dessert not pictured here.
We’ll try the meat and potatoes first.
The mashed potatoes are infused with cheddar cheese and bacon bits and they are delicious!
This was quite a nice surprise because I was expecting frozen mashed potatoes to suck, but these are creamy and quite tasty! The cheese adds a layer of richness and the bacon brings a savory flavor to the mix.
This was a nice bite of something I had no expectations for! I love it when this happens!
The chopped steak was another story though. I added some A-1 Sauce and pepper for flavor but it didn’t help this bland piece of meat. There was no flavor to this and it had a weird consistency to it.
It was really spongey and it was like eating a slab of SpongeBob SquarePants ass cheeks that have been grilled over an open fire.
Oof, that’s not a nice mental picture! Let’s just move on along here.
The corn was good, it was plump and the Asian Zing sauce gave it a nice sweet and sour flavor.
The Fat Bomb balls were a little disappointing. I had high hopes for these chocolate covered orbs, but they had a weird flavor to them. Not really sweet and kind of tasted like a sweaty middle toe.
And that’s not really a pleasant taste at all.

Frozen Food Rating
One and three quarters Ice Cubes (out of four.) The mashed potatoes and corn were good, so almost two out of four ain’t really that bad. But I can’t recommend this meal to anyone at all.
And that wraps up this frozen food meal of the week. See you all tomorrow!
