The album, Rubber Soul by The Beatles was a such a groundbreaking album. It was the first Beatles album that was written entirely by the band and it was the start of The Beatles and other bands realizing that an album could be a true work of art from the cover art to the songs included on it. Before Rubber Soul, albums were mainly a collection of a few hits and then filled up with cover songs and quick filler tunes.
Brain Wilson has said that Rubber Soul was the inspiration for The Beach Boys classic album, Pet Sounds.
They started recording Rubber Soul 56 years ago in October of 1965 and it was released in December of that same year.
Below are six links to online articles about this historical record and a link to a video clip about the album.
And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s happening on the blog next week. Yeah, yeah and yeah!
