Live, from Peoria, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Jenin Village Restaurant and featuring special guest star, Abdul!
Now please welcome, all the way from Pioneer Parkway, this week’s host, Jenin Village Restaurant!
Here we are at Jenin Village Restaurant in Pioneer Parkway. They’re just a few doors away from The Olympia Sports Bar + Grill and I’ve been meaning to stop in and try this place out for a while and tonight’s the night!
Let’s go in and start our Saturday night out on the town!
Wow, it looks nice in here and it’s bigger than I thought it was going to be.
That’s Abdul behind the front counter and he told me to go ahead and sit wherever I wanted to.
I chose this booth and marked my territory with a bottle of tea.
There’s my view of the restaurant from where I’m seated. It’s really nice in here.
I checked out the menu and placed my order with Adbul. Let’s take a look around in here while our dinner is being prepared.
Comfortable booths line the wall facing the front windows and there’s tables in the center for small and larger groups to sit at. There a couple of additional tables up front as well.
They have Mediterranean food to take home in the form of cookies, bread sticks and sauces up front opposite from the host station.
There’s a large table in the front room for banquet events and they have a vintage piano in here which is nice!
Meanwhile, back at my booth, Abdul has delivered a plate and silverware and it looks like our Saturday night dinner is just about to happen!
He brought some fresh pita bread along with our appetizer platter.
The pita bread is home-made, warm and very delicious.
The appetizers look fantastic, let’s dig in!
I got some Falafel and Fried Kibbeh.
I started off with the Falafel, which are deep-fried and crispy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside!
The Fried Kibbeh were deep-fried orbs stuffed with seasoned ground beef and onions and they were fantastic! Our dinner is off to a fabulous start!
For the main course I got the Half Chicken Tikka Platter. This is a grilled half chicken with rice and a house salad.
It looks delicious, let’s dig in!
The chicken is marinated in a curry sauce and it’s crispy on the outside and juicy and fall off the bone tender inside.
The curry marinade gives it a wonderful savory flavor and the rice compliments it nicely. What a fantastic and flavorful dinner!
For dessert I got their chocolate molten cake which is served up warm with a chocolate sauce drizzled on top and there’s also rich warm chocolate inside of the cake.
This is truly a rich and decadent delight!
This was a sweet ending to a fabulous Mediterranean-styled Saturday night dinner.
You should come and check this place out, they’re open for both lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Sunday!
