After I posted last week’s Grilled Cheese post, I got this Tweet from my Twitter friend, Dan Seipel.
Wow, that’s a great looking grilled cheese and I’m going to try and duplicate that this week!
The ingredients for this week’s grilled cheese sandwich are, clockwise from left: Brown sugar, Texas Toast, ham, Juusto Bacon Crumble Cheese, Campbell’s Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup and Juusto Italiano Cheese.
The one place that I’m moving away from Dan’s grilled cheese is the cheese itself. I discovered these two Juusto specialty cheeses and they sounded delicious! One has bacon crumbles and the other is infused with Italian seasonings.
This cheese is really dense and has a hard texture. It was tough to cut! (Insert your own fart joke here, it’s too easy for me!) I wonder how it will do in the melting process?
Time will tell, so let’s keep moving along!!
I melted some butter, added a healthy amount of brown sugar to it and then carmalized the ham slices in it.
Then I removed the ham, melted more butter and soaked two slices of the Texas Toast in the buttery pool.
Then I pre-toasted them on the pre-heated grilled cheese pan.
Now we add the cheese slices and the caramelized ham to the sandwich.
This smells incredible!
Next we flip it, flip it good and whoomp, there’s this week’s Dan Seipel-inspired grilled cheese sandwich!
We’ll let it rest for a couple of minutes while we make the side dish for this week’s sandwich.
Everyone loves a Cup O’ Noodles, so I thought I’d make my own version.
I drained the soup from a can of Campbell’s Chunky Chicken soup, poured the noodles and vegetables into the seasoned pan and added some of the leftover cheese, Cholula Hot Sauce and cracked black pepper.
And then I poured them into a cup and we’re ready for this week’s grilled cheese feast!
This look’s fabulous, let’s dig in!
The Cup O’ Noodles were very tasty and satisfying! The cheese melted in and add a nice flavor layer.
Now on to the main course!
Grilled cheese extreme close-up! It looks absolutely delicious, lets have a bite or three!
Wow, this is one tasty and delicious grilled cheese sandwich!
The caramelized ham is both sweet and savory and the cheese just melted partially which gave the sandwich a nice consistency and a hearty,, bold flavor.
The Texas Toast was buttery and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
This was a fantastic grilled cheese and thanks to Dan Seipel for the inspiration!
