Hard to believe that summer is all over, but it’s gone with the wind. However, while the weather is still decent outside, let’s go hang out at the Dan Fogelberg Memorial on the Peoria Riverfront for today’s Social Distant Sunday activity and then we’ll make Sunday dinner.
This is a plan, so let’s go do it!
As I said , the weather is still nice outside. It’s a little too bright for me, but at least it’s still warm outside.
After I parked the MBIP Moblie, I looked over and saw something I’ve never noticed in my trips down here, there’s another park over there.
I went over and there’s a sign about the Constitution and I later learned this is called the Constitution Garden & Liberty Park. I never knew this existed here.
The things you learn by messing around on a Sunday afternoon!
Benches line the circular park and the shrubbery is quite impressive in here!
There’s also a Betsy Ross flag flying in here, nice!
Here we are at the Dan Fogelberg Memorial on the Peoria Riverfront.
This is cool because it’s not a glitzy memorial and based in nature, which I think Dan Fogelberg would’ve appreciated.
These memorial stones have his date of birth and death and lyrics from his songs.
You can chill out his on this bench which features a photo of Dan Fogelberg and a quote from him.
The view from here is beautiful!
A nice place to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon and reflect on things.
Okay, this was a nice relaxing Social Distance Sunday, now let’s go get Sunday dinner!
I went to Schucks to pick up some items for this week’s Sunday Dinner.
And here’s what I got: A Chicago Deli Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Dog, Firecracker Chicken Wings and a salted caramel cheesecake.
And we’ll start this Sunday dinner out with a Bud Light tallboy can of beer. Cheers!
I try to keep my Sunday dinner simple, but tasty. I get things pre-prepared, so I just have to warm them up and then enjoy the dinner.
The chicken wings just need to be popped into the microwave for about a minute.
Next up we’ll wrap the pretzel dog up in a paper towel and we’ll nuke that for about a minute as well.
Here’s this week’s Sunday dinner all plated up!
I put three of the chicken wings on the plate and I’m saving the other three for a snack later on when I’m drinking beer. I added a generous dollop of mustard to the pretzel dog and took the lid off of the cheesecake.
Okay, time to dive in to this week’s Sunday dinner!
The chicken wings were really tasty!
Usually I prefer my wings to be unbreaded, but these had a light breading that was crisp with a little heat and spiciness in the breading. The wings were plump and juicy and a nice start to this Sunday dinner!
I had high hopes for this Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Dog, it really sounded tasty.
However as I bit into it, I discovered one disappointing fact…there was no cheddar involved at all!
There was bits of jalapeno and it was a tasty hot dog, but there was no cheddar cheese in this hot dog.
What the fuck?
You call yourself a Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Dog and yet you forget to put the cheddar cheese into the mix? This is unbelievable and it really ruined my Sunday dinner.
This was a cruel and bitter revelation on a Sunday night.
I put the pretzel dog down and wished everyone involved with this a long, sad and painful death.
Fuck!
The salted caramel cheesecake was delicious, so that helped somewhat.
But still, why call yourself a Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Dog and then not put any cheddar cheese into the mix? Go fuck yourselves Chicago Deli, you fucking ruined my Sunday dinner and I’ll never forgive you for that.
Hopefully next week’s Sunday dinner will make up for this cruel and bitter disappointment.
I just want to close by saying…”Fuck you, Chicago Deli! Eat shit, live, eat more shit and then die!”
FUUUUUUUUUCK!
