April 10th, 1970 is the day most people cite as the day that The Beatles officially broke up. This was the day that Paul McCartney issued a press release regarding his first self-titled solo album and somewhat unofficially announced the break-up of the Fabulous Four.
The other Beatles were pissed off he did this because he didn’t tell them and it was seen as a publicity stunt for his first solo album.
Publicity stunt or not, it was fifty years ago that saw the end of one of the most popular and culture changing bands of all time. Below are six links to online articles about The Beatles splitting up and one video where Paul McCartney talks about the break up to Howard Stern.
