The Pottstown Meat & Deli in the Metro Centre is a family-owned business that’s been selling meat and other goodies to the Peoria area for over 100 years now.
I went there during my year-long MBIP sandwich tour back in 2017 and they served up the 37th sandwich and it was quite a tasty one.
Scroll down to take a trip back to 2017 for the 37th week of the year-long sandwich tour at Pottstown Meat & Deli!
Here we are at Pottstown Meat and Deli. They’ve been doing business here for quite a while, the Barth family has been doing butcher business for over 100 years here in Peoria. Let’s go in and say hello.
There’s Katie and Bob Barth who are the current owners of this classic Peoria business. They represent four generations of Barths who have been serving up quality meat and other products to the Peoria area for over 100 years.
And they have a nice selection of sandwiches as you can see from the menu. I ordered one and you’ll be seeing my selection soon!
In addition to fine and fresh meat, they also have an amazing selection of beer in here!
There’s also an amazing amount of wine and condiments on display and for sale!
Here’s Katie serving up this week’s spotlight sandwich.
I ordered the Sicilian sandwich and it comes with adorned with a pickle on top and it looks delicious!
This is an Italian inspired sandwich made with Genoa Salami, Prosciutto, Pepperoni, Maple Glazed Ham and Mozzarella Cheese. And it’s housed in slices of fresh Ciabatta Bread.
It looks amazing!
This is such a delicious sandwich! No frills or gimmicks, just really fresh and flavorful Italian meats and cheese and it’s topped off with a tangy Italian dressing that really compliments the sandwich perfectly!
The Ciabatta bread is very fresh and it’s light and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside holding the sandwich together in a delicious and tasty manner!
What a great sandwich from Peoria’s true Meating Place—Pottstown Meat & Deli!
