Last week, somewhere during my travels scanning social media I came across someone who posted a picture of a slice of pizza with scrambled eggs on top of it and the caption read: “Is this wrong?”
For some reason, this really intrigued me and it’s inspired me to cook up my own version of a scrambled egg pizza to see if it’s wrong or right or just plain delicious!
Let’s get cooking!
Here’s the ingredients for this week’s Marty Meal, clockwise from left to right: Salami and cheese, cheese pizza, cage free eggs, Boar’s Head spicy cheese and a ham and cheese Lunchable.
Plus I’ll be using spices from the MBIP Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
The Pizza I chose is the Screamin’ Sicilian Cheese Pizza. I found it weird that they put, “Bessie’s Revenge” at the top of the box. It’s almost like the pizza is threatening you!
When I took it out of the box, it was weirdly white with strange boxy cheese on it.
I bought a hunk of Boar’s Head spicy cheese to put into the scrambled eggs and decided to put a layer of it on top of the pizza to add some flavor and color to it.
Then I put it into a 400 degree pre-heated oven and it will cook for 18 minutes.
This is the weirdest pizza box ever!
On the back it comes with a mustache that you can pop off of the box and insert it into your nose. So I did and after looking at the picture I took, I realized I kind of resemble MBIP Pal and Wheelman Scott Turley!
A true Separated At Birth moment!
I wanted to put ham into the scrambled eggs and went to Huck’s to get a package and they were all sold out. So I got a couple packs of salami and cheese and a ham and cheese Lunchable and I’ll put the salami and ham from these into the eggs.
I didn’t want to waste the cheddar cheese from the salami packs or the crackers from the Lunchable, so I made some cheddar cheese crackers that I’ll bake in the oven.
This is turning into a real improv meal!
Now we’ll stir up four eggs and add some hot sauce to them. They’ll cook quickly, so let’s get everything else ready for the meal before we start scrambling them on the oven.
The cheese pizza is cooked, so I took it out, added a swirl of hot sauce and we’ll put that off to the side and let it cool down. I like my pizza at room temperature.
I added some of the salami to the cheese and crackers and we’ll put them into the oven.
Now we’ll scramble the eggs in a buttered pre-heated pan.
I added some Cayenne Pepper and the cheese, ham and salami.
I took a taste and they’re delicious all on their own! I’m anxious to see how they are on top of the pizza!
The cheese and salami crackers are done and I’ve sliced the pizza up.
Time to plate this week’s Thursday Minute Marty Meal!
The salami and cheese crackers were surprisingly tasty! Looking back, I should’ve put some mustard on them, but no sense in looking backwards!
Okay, it’s time for the moment of truth, is it wrong to put scrambled eggs on top of a pizza?
If this is wrong, I don’t wanna be right!
This dish tastes like a delicious breakfast pizza! The eggs were creamy, with the ham and salami adding a savory flavor and the spicy cheese added richness and a little heat. The pizza was crunchy and made a nice base for the eggs.
It was an eggstremely eggcelent Marty Meal!
