Back in February of 2017, I ventured out to East Peoria for the 36th sandwich in the MBIP year long sandwich tour. I went to Whitey’s BBQ, but I didn’t go alone…
Bob Gordon, owner of ACME Comics was driving and was going to sample Whitey’s BBQ with me.
And here we are at Whitey’s BBQ in East Peoria.
As you can see, they have a half dozen sandwiches to choose from.
I decided to try the Burnt Ends Sandwich. It sounded tasty and I had never had a Burnt Ends Sandwich before.
Ashley was working behind the counter and she took the order…
And Eric served it up at our table.
The sandwich looks incredible! Let’s dig in!
This was such a delicious sandwich! The meat was tender and succulent and the BBQ flavor was savory and spicy.
Some of the burnt ends fell out of the sandwich and I ate them with a fork. What a flavorful and delicious sandwich!
Bob and I also split an order of the ribs and they were outstanding as well! Whitey’s is a great BBQ place.
They’re currently closed due to the Cover-19 virus, but I look forward to their re-opening, hopefully soon!
After our lunch, Whitey came out and said hello and thanked us for stopping by. He’s a really nice guy and I hope he’s getting through these weird times okay.
