Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe and featuring special guest stars, Mary, Caron, Julie, Brody, Rachel, Christopher, Shawna, Jason and musical guest stars, Tucked-In T’s. Now please welcome this week’s host all the way from the Peoria riverfront, Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe!
Here we are at the Contemporary Art Center which houses the Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe. There’s live music here tonight, so let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday night!
Rhythm Kitchen is Peoria’s only New Orlean’s themed restaurant and you get a sense of that before you even walk in the door.
There’s the front station and A.B. is there greeting everyone with a beautiful smile, great to see her again!
The musical guests for the evening are The Tucked-In T’s and they sounded great! Check them out at their facecrack page right here and here’s a link to the upcoming musical guests at Rhythm Kitchen.
I found a seat at the bar and Mary and Caron served me up a bottle of Modelo, wonderful to see both of their smiling faces!
Julie along with her husband Brody took this place over a year ago this weekend! I brought them a card and some gifts to honor this first anniversary! Julie started working here over 13 years ago as a waitress and now she owns the place! I’m happy that she and Brody are keeping this downtown tradition alive! Happy anniversary!
Things are bright and sparkly behind the bar in true New Orleans fashion!
Tom and Rhonda were seated next to me at the bar and Rachel stopped by to say hi.
I saw Chef Jason back at the kitchen and Christopher and Shawna were seated at a table nearby.
Last time I was here, I discovered that some of my brother’s art was hanging in the back room and here’s some photos of the framed art on the walls. Thanks to Ron Roling for donating the art to Rhythm Kitchen and to Julie and Brody for keeping my brother’s art alive in downtown Peoria!
Speaking of art, Sarah Nesbit is the featured artist of the month at Rhythm Kitchen and here’s some of her art hanging in the front room. Very nice and you can see more of her work at her website right here.
Meanwhile back at the bar, Julie is serving up this week’s Saturday night dinner!
I got the Shrimp Creole and it simply delicious! You can read more about it in the review below, but this made me feel like I was sitting in the heart of New Orleans!
After dinner the band played on and this was yet another fun evening at Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe!
The food at Rhythm Kitchen is made from scratch by Chef Jason and his crew and I’ve never had a bad meal here in my life! I’ve never had the Shrimp Creole and it was delicious! This dish features juicy and plump shrimp in a sauce featuring tomato, onion, celery and bell pepper with cayenne seasoning with white rice. It’s got a nice spicy flavor and the perfect dish to warm you up on a winter evening!
