Usually I go out and get my tacos for this segment on Monday afternoon. But I had a lot of stuff to do yesterday, so I thought I’d do it on Sunday. Well, every place I checked was closed on Sunday, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
And then when I was done with that, I decided to go to the store and get some ingredients to make my own tacos right here at the MBIP World Headquarters!
And so, in the immortal words of Walter White: “Wanna cook?”
Here’s the ingredients for this week’s homemade taco feast, clockwise from left: Mexican Three Cheese, an onion, Old El Paso Taco Seasoning, Ground Beef, Cheddar/Jack Mexican Cheese and Old El Paso Bold and Spicy Taco Shells.
I’ll also be using seasonings and spices from the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
Alright, let’s get cooking!
First we brown the ground beef in this pre-heated pan.
Then we’ll drain the grease off in the sink and put the de-greased beef back in the pan…
And now we’ll season the beef.
I’m adding some Texas Pete hot sauce, black pepper, chili powder, cayenne powder and I mixed up some Old El Paso Taco Seasoning and poured that into the beef mixture.
Next we’ll stir in two different types of Mexican styled shredded cheese to the ground beef and then sample.
Wow, I could eat it straight out of the pan, this is so spicy, rich and tasty!
Now we’ll cover the ground beef and let that simmer as we put the taco shells into a pre-heated 325 degree oven and we’ll cook those for about five minutes.
While those are heating up we’ll dice up an onion and add a pro tip here: Don’t slice it too finely, you’ll need nice size chunks to add to the tacos. These look perfect!
The taco shells are heated up and now all the ingredients are in place!
Time to assemble the tacos!
This is pretty simple to do, first we add in the seasoned and cheesy ground beef, then we’ll put some of the onions on top and finish it off with a layer of the shredded Mexican Cheddar Jack Cheese.
Voila! Dos Tacos!
They look absolutely spectacular if I do say so myself and I just did so there!
Wow, these are so tasty!
The ground beef is spicy and has the rich and creamy melted cheese to balance the heat.
The onion and the spicy taco shell add a nice crunch and the cheese on top adds one more level of cool cheesiness to the flavors of this taco.
Simply delicious and a terrific taco meal!
