Today is the 61st anniversary of the Clutter family murders. This horrific murder scene that happened in Kansas City ended up inspiring Truman Capote to write a non-fiction novel that started a whole new genre of non-fiction writing. The novel was titled, “In Cold Blood” and it took Capote six years to complete it.
The book was later adapted into a movie in 1967 starring Robert Blake and Scott Wilson.
The book was also a key part of a movie made about Truman Capote starring Philip Seymour Hoffman that came out in 2005.
